Will Sofia Richie and Scott Disick Be in the 2019 Kardashian Christmas Card?

The Kardashian-Jenner Christmas card has become an annual tradition, and fans watch for it the way that little kids keep an eye on the skies for Rudolph’s glowing red nose. While there have been a few years the family has missed, the tradition has been fairly dependable since 2008.

Every year, there are questions about which members of the complex and the growing family tree will make the cut and which ones will be left out. This year, fans are particularly curious to see whether Scott Disick, Kourtney Kardashian’s ex and the father of her children, or Disick’s current girlfriend Sofia Richie will make an appearance.

The Kardashian holiday card hasn’t come out every year

While the card has been a holiday tradition fairly regularly since about 2008, there have been some missing years. In 2014, for instance, there was no card. While Kim Kardashian claimed the family just got too busy and ran out of time, it was also the year that Kris and Caitlyn Jenner (then Bruce Jenner) filed for divorce.

The family skipped a year in 2016 as well. It was a tumultuous year that included Kanye West’s hospitalization and Kardashian’s harrowing robbery in Paris.

Scott Disick was once a regular feature in the photos

Disick and Kourtney Kardashian have had a tumultuous relationship that was on and off for about a decade. The timeline is incredibly complicated, and it’s difficult to say exactly when the two were or weren’t an item, but it does seem that things have been officially over since at least 2017.

Disick appeared in the 2010 card next to Kardashian alongside their son, Mason. The trio was also in the 2011 card. The 2012 card features not only Disick, Kourtney, and Mason, but the addition of Penelope, their daughter born in July of that year.

The 2013 card was a bit strange and surreal, but several of the other men in the Kardashian-Jenner women’s lives made abstract “appearances.” Disick, however, did not.

The 2015 card featured no adults, so Disick was again absent. The 2017 card featured only women and their children, leaving all of the men connected to the family out of the frame.

While the 2018 card features Kardashian and all three of her children with Disick, Disick himself is not in the picture. But neither were any the other male partners to the Kardashian-Jenner women.

Sofia Richie will probably not make an appearance

While there is a slim chance that Disick could make it onto the card alongside his children, it’s unlikely. In recent years, the photographs have focused most prominently on the sisters and their children, and male partners — even ones in good standing with the group — have often been excluded. As the family grows larger and larger, it’s even less likely that invitations will extend to exes.

However, it is exceedingly unlikely that Richie will be making her way into the frame for the annual tradition. Kourtney Kardashian has been graciously including Richie, who is Disick’s new girlfriend, in her life. However, there’s a big difference between inviting someone to travel with you for the sake of a good working relationship with the partner of your children’s father and inviting them into your intimate family Christmas card that is going to be scrutinized across the entire world.

Kardashian sees being kind to Richie as a crucial part of co-parenting with Disick. Their three children are the priority in keeping the complex and tangled relationships as amicable as possible.

While it’s unlikely that Richie or Disick will make the cut for the Christmas photoshoot, anything is possible with the Kardashian-Jenner family who likes to keep the world guessing and knows just how to draw attention to themselves. No matter what this year’s picture features, it’s certain to cause a stir.
