Will There Be Another Royal Wedding in 2019?

2018 was a landmark year for the British Royal Family. Queen Elizabeth II welcomed another great-grandchild, Prince Louis. Prince Harry finally tied the knot, marrying former actress Duchess Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie married her long-time love Jack Brooksbank. Just as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on their first official royal tour together, they announced that they are expecting their first child, due in the Spring of 2019. There have also been health issues –mostly with Prince Philip, rumors of a rift between Prince William and Prince Harry and the entire Markle debacle.

Overall, the Windsors have had a year that can’t be topped, but 2019 is shaping up to be just as iconic. Along with the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child, will there be another royal wedding in 2019?

Lady Gabriella Windsor is tying the knot in 2019

Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, will be getting married in the Spring of 2019. Lady Gabriella will be marrying Thomas Kingston who was once romantically linked to Duchess Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa Middleton. Kensington Palace announced the couple’s impending nuptials just before Princess Eugenie’s wedding in Nov. 2018. According to the Palace, Kingston “works in frontier market investment and is a Director of Devonport Capital.”

Like Princess Eugenie and Duchess Meghan Markle, Lady Gabriella will wed at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Since Gabriella isn’t a full-time royal, her wedding will be a private event. Though the public will not attend the event, we do know that Lady Gabriella and Thomas Kingston will have their reception at Frogmore House.

The Kents are not beloved royals

We’re interested to see if the major royals even attend Lady Gabriella nuptials. After all, her mother, Princess Michael of Kent is known as the most embarrassing royal of modern times. The princess is known for her elitist mentality and racist outbursts. In fact, when she first met Meghan Markle, the princess showed up to a luncheon wearing a very offensive blackamoor brooch.

Called the Pushy Princess by members of the royal family, the main royals generally don’t attend events for the Kent family simply because they find Lady Gabriella’s mother unbearable. Queen Elizabeth II who generally holds her tongue called Princess Michael Kent, “a bit grand to us.”

Also, Princess Margaret’s son, David, Viscount Linley said that if he could wish anything upon his worst enemy, it would be, “dinner with Princess Michael of Kent.” Honestly, she sounds like a real piece of work but hopefully, the princess won’t ruin her daughter’s big day.
