‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Trailer Is Coming This Weekend

It’s been over two years since Wonder Woman hit the theaters in 2017 with Gal Gadot fighting the bad guys as the superhero (five months’ pregnant, at that). Gadot was made for this role, effectively capturing both the badassery and kindness of the superwoman.

Now, it’s time for her return in Wonder Woman 1984. Although the film won’t be in theaters until June 2020, its trailer will be released this weekend, on Dec. 8.

Find out more about the new film, plus what else Gadot is working on.

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Trailer is Coming This Sunday

Fans have been clamoring for news of the new Wonder Woman movie. The movie poster was released in June this year, so, clearly, the Wonder Woman/Warner Bros. team is slowly offering piecemeal promotions to remind fans that the movie really will be coming.

The buzz around the trailer’s release is deafening as director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot are expected to personally and officially introduce it this Sunday, Dec. 8 at CCXP in Brazil.

Warner Bros. basically said so in their October statement saying in part, “…Wonder Woman 1984 will close the show at this year’s Comic Con Experience, better known as CCXP, in São Paulo, Brazil on Sunday, 8 December. The Thunder Hall presentation will feature several firsts, including the film’s star, Gal Gadot, and director, Patty Jenkins, on hand to introduce the first-ever trailer for their upcoming film, due in theaters next June.”

The star herself took to Twitter on Monday this week to tease something big coming. “Hey everyone, I’m here to let you all know that something very exciting is coming your way, this Sunday Dec. 8. . .See you Sunday!”

Gadot’s big payday for Wonder Woman 1984

Gal Gadot is the reason behind the Wonder Woman franchise’s success, no doubt about it. The actress has brought life and dimension to the superhero, where other recent superhero flicks haven’t done as well.

Gadot earned $300,000 for the first Wonder Woman movie. This time around? She will be taking home a far more wondrous $10 million for Wonder Woman 1984.

She told W Magazine in 2018 how emotional she got watching Wonder Woman after it was done.

“I remember so many movies when men are like super leading, and confident, and they know what to do, and they can, and I remember when I was watching the movie, I got so emotional on the battlefield scene, when you see all the women ride the horses, and twirling the-their swords, and looking so strong, and beautiful, and royal, and capable. . . when I was growing up as a woman, as girls we didn’t have this image of ourselves, a version of ourselves that is so strong, and mighty, and capable.” And all of the sudden, I saw it, and it threw me off.”

Gadot’s newest project

As if all the goings-on in the Wonder Woman world weren’t enough, Gadot has another pot on the burner in the form of a new drama series she is working on.

It’s based on the popular Israeli crime drama, Queens and Gadot and her husband/production partner Yaron Varsano are developing a version for American viewers.

Gadot and Varsano said in a statement about the new program,  “It is rare to find content that conveys characters in such a truthful way, while mirroring society.”

If Gadot is involved in it, it is sure to be a wonderful program.
