The 10 Worst Quotes Ever Made By Mel Gibson
The actor was definitely on top of his game after winning two Oscars for Braveheart. He was also the lead in multiple huge box office movies. However, the actor is no longer someone to bank on for audiences to come out and watch. That’s because a lot of people don’t like him for his alleged racist and sexist rants. There have been so many terrible quotes from him that it can be hard to keep track of them all, but here are the 10 worst quotes ever made by Mel Gibson.
1. “What do you think you’re looking at, sugar tits?”
In 2006, the actor was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Malibu. He reportedly started swearing and then became violent, according to TMZ. When the deputy tried to get him into his patrol car, the actor allegedly tried to run back to his own car instead. He was then subdued, cuffed, and put into the patrol car.
There he went on to say his disgusting and infamous rant. “F*****g Jews,” he reportedly said to the deputy. “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?” Later at the station, he said the second part of his tirade when he noticed a female sergeant.
“What do you think you’re looking at, sugar tits?” he reportedly yelled at her. The whole rant was recorded by the deputy. He was later thrown into a detox cell. The actor pleaded no contest to a single misdemeanor charge of drunken driving, according to the Washington Post. He got a three-year probation, rehabilitation classes, and a fine.
2. “I am earning money for a filthy little c*ntsucker who takes advantage of me!”
In 2012 the actor was talking to screenwriter Joe Eszterhas when he brought up his ex. “I go to work, you’re getting paid, I’m not! Sh*t! I am earning money for a filthy little c*ntsucker who takes advantage of me! Just like every motherf**ker! So hurry the f**k up!” The whole conversation was recorded because Eszterhas wanted to get proof that Gibson was sabotaging his movie for anti-Semitic reasons, according to The Guardian.
3. “You look like a f**king pig in heat and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers … “
Once again the actor was recorded saying terrible things. This time it was directed at his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who he was in a custody battle with at the time over their daughter. “You’re an embarrassment to me,” he said. “You look like a f**king pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault.” He also called her a “wh*re” and “c*nt.”
4. “I am going to come and burn the f**king house down … but you will blow me first.”
Gibson got into another recorded rant against his ex, Grigorieva. This one is a lot scarier since the actor allegedly threatens her in this message. “How dare you act like such a b*tch when I have been so f**king nice,” he said according to Radar Online. “I am going to come and burn the f**king house down … but you will blow me first.”
5. “They take it up the a**. This, is only for taking a sh*t … “
A lot of the actor’s rants are pretty recent and were therefore surprising to many. But perhaps we should have seen it all coming since one of his terrible quotes came from an interview he did back in 1991 with El País. There he talked about how he is against homosexuality. “They take it up the a**,” he said according to the Independent. “This, is only for taking a sh*t.”
6. “Feminists don’t like me, and I don’t like them”
Another early controversial quote the actor made was back in 1995. In a Playboy interview he said, “I have tremendous respect for women. I love them,” he said. “Women in my family are the center of things.” But even then he got in hot water for calling his female business partner a c*nt according to ABC News. He then continued, “Feminists don’t like me, and I don’t like them. I don’t get their point. I don’t know why feminists have it out for me, but that’s their problem, not mine.”
7. “I want to kill him … I want his intestines on a stick … I want to kill his dog”
The director didn’t handle the criticism of The Passion of the Christ well. Many felt like it was anti-Semitic and it brought up the topic of his family. The New York Times columnist, Frank Rich reportedly said that Gibson’s father might have been a Holocaust denier. So Gibson reportedly said of Rich, “I want to kill him … I want his intestines on a stick … I want to kill his dog.” He then went on to defend his father. “He never denied the Holocaust. He just said there were fewer than 6 million.”
8. “You deserved it”
In one of the recorded conversations with Grigorieva she brings up that he hit her and broke her teeth. He then reportedly said “you deserved it” according to Radar Online. This is chilling, considering the actor was being investigated for domestic abuse. He pleaded no contest in 2011 but the conviction was later vacated, according to USA Today.
9. “I’ll put you in a f**king rose garden, you c*nt.”
Soon after he told Grigorieva that she deserved getting hit, he then allegedly gave her a chilling threat. “I’m threatening, I’ll put you in a f**king rose garden, you c*nt. You understand that? ‘Cause I’m capable of it. You understand that? Get a f**king restraining order. For what? What are you going to get a restraining order for? For me being drunk and disorderly? For hitting you? For what?”
10. “I’ll report her to the f**king people who take f**king money from the w**backs”
In another recording with Grigorieva the actor reportedly told her to fire their babysitter. He also reportedly said that he refused to give Grigorieva money to pay her. He then is recorded saying, “I’ll report her to the f**king people who take f**king money from the w**backs, OK?”
