Would ‘Flip or Flop’s’ Tarek El Moussa Let Ex Christina Anstead Fix Him Up on a Date?
HGTV’s Tarek El Moussa of Flip or Flop has been in the headlines lately, seen cozying up with a new lady in his life who also happens to be in the real estate reality world. Since El Moussa is clearly moving on since his divorce from ex-wife Christina Anstead, who remarried in December, the reality star was recently asked if he was open to the idea of his ex playing matchmaker for him.
Change of heart
In July, El Moussa commented that he wasn’t necessarily looking for love. “Right now, I’m just putting all my love towards my kids and every extra ounce of energy I have goes towards building my brand and just becoming better at who I am,” he said, according to an interview with SheKnows. “I’m sure one day when the dust settles, I might get lonely and look for someone.”
Yet in early August, El Moussa seemed to be singing a different tune. When asked during the podcast Reality Life With Kate Casey about his feelings on possibly getting remarried one day, he seemed open to the idea. “I’ve been on my own for three years now, and it gets lonely,” he said, according to E! Online. “As people we want to love and we want to be loved. I don’t care what anyone says, that’s just how we’re wired. So I’m hopeful. I think there’s a chance.”
El Moussa may have flipped his thoughts on the topic since he’s been spotted with a new lady. According to People, he was recently seen being very affectionate with Heather Young, fellow real estate agent and star of Netflix’s Selling Sunset. Neither have commented on the status of their relationship.
Exes and business partners
El Moussa and Anstead remain partners on Flip or Flop, where he recently said their relationship is in a good place. “In general, it’s just easier now than it was a few years ago, going through the divorce and the separation and all that, so filming together right now is the best it’s been in a very, very long time,” El Moussa told Us Weekly. “The entire success of the show depends on our relationship, because if we don’t have a working relationship, we have no show, so there are some pretty good motivations to make sure that we’re doing what we need to do to continue what we’re doing.”
Anstead is due with a baby boy in September with husband Ant, documenting her stages of pregnancy on her Instagram account. El Moussa told Hollywood Life that he fully supports his ex’s new life and family. “The kids and I are excited, you know, I think overall it’s great for them. And I’m glad she’s happy, and I’ll do everything I possibly can to be as great as I can be to her kid. At the end of the day, her son is gonna be the brother of my kids,” he said.
From ex to matchmaker?
Apparently the divorced couple has reached a new level of trust. When El Moussa was asked if he would allow Anstead to fix him up on a date, he was clearly open to the idea. “If she finds me the perfect specimen, then yeah,” the reality star told Us Weekly. “That sounds great.”
Anstead may not need to practice her matchmaking skills since El Moussa seems to be happily spending time with Young. Despite his relationship status, the Flip or Flop star emphasized that his priority, as well as Anstead’s, is co-parenting their two children – Taylor, 8, and Brayden, 3. “[Parenting] the kids is the most important job in the entire world for us, so no personal drama can get in the way of that.” he said, as reported by Us Weekly.
