Their romance was written in comic books. The stars that play Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Michelle Jones (Zendaya) in the Marvel Comic Universe films are very very close.

Rumors seem to pop up everywhere that the two are dating. After all, wouldn’t it be perfect for Peter Parker and MJ to end up together in real life?

Let’s take a look at their relationship and try to answer the question: Would Tom Holland and Zendaya make a good couple?

How Tom Holland and Zendaya met

The pair met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Holland described meeting Zendaya as, “awkward.” He told the story in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “My first meeting with Zendaya was very embarrassing actually, for me. It was just one of those moments where it just wasn’t my smoothest moment.”

He continues to describe walking into the room and her dad being there. He reached out his hand for a shake, but she went in for a hug.

The pair constantly deny rumors that they’re romantically connected, but this introduction sounds exactly like the awkwardness that happens when you’re attracted to someone.

Look how cute Tom Holland and Zendaya are together

The Spider-Man stars are always hanging out together, as evidenced by their Instagram posts and paparazzi photos. And when they are together, they’re constantly laughing and acting like they thoroughly enjoy each other’s company.

On top of that, they compliment each other a lot. For example, Zendaya posted a video to Instagram of Holland visiting a children’s hospital dressed as Spider-Man.

Her caption read, “I think we have the world’s best real life Spider-man… an absolutely beautiful day at @nyphospital with two of my favorite people.”

He complimented her by posting a photo of her 2018 Met Gala look to Instagram with the caption, “All hail the queen. Killing it mate.” He ended the post with the “person raising two hands in celebration” emoji, that made it appear that he was, in fact, hailing to the queen.

Another Instagram post actually ended with a red heart emoji. You know when there’s a red heart involved, romantic feelings are there. Even if they’re not admitting it.

The post was shared on Zendaya’s birthday and featured a photo of the two goofing off with a Spider-Man statue. The caption, written by Holland, read, “Me, myself and the birthday girl. Happy birthday mate- keep killing it and paving the way for the rest of us. [red heart emoji]”

Would Tom Holland and Zendaya make a good couple?

So far, the pair continues to deny rumors that they are romantically involved- But they’re so cute together. They insist that they are just really good friends.

An unidentified source told People:

“They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man. They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye, but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try to spend as much time as possible with one another.”

However, the pair were quick to deny the People story. And after all, it was an unidentified source, so really there’s no way to know for sure if the person knew what they were talking about.

After the story was released, Zendaya posted to Instagram, “Wait, wait… my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in Years!” Holland replied asking if the press tour counted.

An “insider” told People in the same story:

“They’re both really ambitious and they challenge each other- but most importantly, they make each other crack up. They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”

This quote is really sweet, and since it doesn’t specifically say that they’re involved but only that they get along really well, it’s probably true.

For now, Holland and Zendaya don’t appear to want to tell us if they are actually dating. We’re going to have to be content with watching them onscreen as Peter Parker and MJ. But their chemistry both on and off stage seems to indicate that if they were to get together, they’d be a fantastic pair.
