What is ‘You’ about?

Starring Penn Badgley, You centers on Joe Goldberg, a former bookstore manager who doubles as a serial killer.

In season one, he becomes obsessed with a woman named Guinevere Beck, but in his mind, he’s simply doing everything he can to make her happy and for their relationship work.

In the end, Guinevere uncovers the truth about Joe and his murderous past. But before she can leave and report him, he kills her to protect his secrets.

After Guinevere’s death, Joe leaves New York and starts over in Los Angeles as Will Bettelheim. There, he meets a woman named Love Quinn, a widow employed at her family’s grocery store. He, unsurprisingly, develops an unhealthy obsession with Love too. But a plot twist reveals that she isn’t exactly who he thought she was.

Still, they wind up together at the end of the season. The last moments of the finale show Joe and a pregnant Love moving into a new house, near someone else that Joe has his eyes on.

Netflix has shared an update on ‘You’ Season 3

Ever since Netflix announced another season in early 2020, we haven’t heard many updates about the show. However, the streaming giant revealed in a Nov. 2 tweet that production on You Season 3 has now started.

“We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times. YOU S3 is back in production,” read the tweet, which included a photo of Badgley dressed as Joe with a mask on reading, “HELLO YOU.”

Plot details are still fuzzy, but Netflix Queue previously revealed that there are a couple of new creepy characters joining the show. NCIS: New Orleans‘s Shalita Grant will step in as Sherry, “a ‘Mom-fluencer’ who appears down to earth, but is actually a mean girl who only pretends to welcome Love into her social circle,” and Felicity‘s Scott Speedman will play Matthew, a successful CEO with questionable behavior.

TVLine previously reported that You Season 3 would come out in 2021, but an exact release date has not been shared. As we await more details, find more of our You coverage below.
