We love a good fashion collab — and one of the latest on the style block is nothing short of a home run. Iconic denim label Levi Strauss & Co. has teamed up with Major League Baseball for a new capsule collection of branded outerwear that has MLB team spirit in spades.

The logo-forward line launched right before opening day this season, but it’s not too late to upgrade your ballpark uniform. Both fan-friendly and fashionable, these pieces beat a standard jersey any game day of the week. Here’s what you need to know about the collection — and why it should promptly be added to your closet.

It’s small but mighty

While there are only three types of apparel in the Levi’s x MLB capsule collection, they still boast plenty of spirit and swagger. Traditional Levi’s silhouettes get enhanced with pops of baseball team branding, offering a stylish edge over standard game-day apparel. The trucker jacket has a baseball-inspired leather patch and team embroidery done in a vintage chain-stitch technique while a classic crewneck sweater features team applique with raglan sleeves — but what we really love is its vintage appeal. The Club Coat is based on Levi’s heritage work wear but it has been updated in nylon with team print and is inspired by the classic coach’s jacket.

Not all teams are represented — yet

Right now, the lineup of MLB gear includes the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, and San Francisco Giants for a “coastal rivalries collection.” But no need to fret; these are some of the most iconic names in baseball not to mention in the greater sports world. And, there’s little doubt that Levi’s and the MLB may have plans up their sleeve to roll out more teams in the future.

It’s a winning match

What makes the MLB and Levi Strauss & Co. collaboration such a home run and a perfect fit? Well, you may not realize it, but America’s national pastime has been a rich part of the denim label’s heritage — starting with the company’s employee baseball team, Elesco, in the early 1900s. Levi’s also had a Home Run line of youth wear in the 1920s. This new collection is simply another representation of longstanding admiration for the game as well as a step in the continued expansion of their sportswear offerings.

It’s legit!

The mix between vintage logo detailing, classic Levi’s looks, and modern edge is what makes the Levi’s X MLB collection so compelling. And the nod to baseball’s past is intentional and well-researched. To create the collection, Levi’s designers reportedly paid a visit to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, where they spent an entire weekend in the vault sifting through the sport’s history.

It’s not just for game day

While the collection should be your new uniform for a day at the diamond, it’s intended to be worn beyond the ballpark, too. “From crafting uniforms to dressing fans for game day, Levi’s has been involved in the game of baseball for more than 100 years,” said James Curleigh, president of Levi’s. “There’s been a resurgence of baseball-influenced clothing in the past few years and Levi’s is in a unique position to create gear that can be worn to a game, but is stylish enough to wear in your everyday life.”

It’s not Levi’s first brush with the Big Leagues

The MLB collection follows a previously launched National Football League collaboration with the San Francisco 49ers. In case you’re as much of a fan of the gridiron as the baseball diamond, you’ll be happy to know that Levi’s is set to expand this NFL partnership to all 32 teams at the start of the 2016-17 NFL season.

The collection is available online and in select stores, including the Undefeated and Concepts retailers. Prices range from $78 to $108.
