Kate Middleton’s Most Iconic Maternity Styles
When it comes to her maternity style, Kate Middleton knows how to rock a chic outfit and show off her royal bump. The Duchess of Cambridge has worn her signature looks — bright colors, bold prints, and monochromatic style — while on royal tours, attending parties at Buckingham Palace, and lending her time to the various charities close to her heart.
Ahead, we take a look back at some of Kate Middleton’s most iconic maternity styles.
1. This cheerful yellow dress
Like Princess Diana, it’s no secret Kate Middleton loves to wear color. While pregnant with Prince George, the princess attended Queen Elizabeth II’s garden party at Buckingham Palace in a bright yellow and cream tunic dress with a matching cream fascinator. By the looks of it, Kate’s dress is actually a collarless jacket, buttoned all the way up — perfect for a chilly spring day!
2. This monochromatic ensemble
The Duchess of Cambridge is known for wearing monochromatic ensembles from time to time, and this rich brown look is one of our favorites. Worn to a St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Mons Barracks, Kate paired her chocolate-colored coat with matching heels, gloves, and a fascinator — drawing attention to her gorgeous clover brooch.
3. This leopard print frock
It’s no secret the Duchess of Cambridge likes to have fun — especially when it comes to her wardrobe. And she wore this leopard print tunic dress to the official naming ceremony of Princess Cruises’ Royal Princess to prove it. Paired with a matching black fascinator, Kate Middleton shows how to rock prints while pregnant.
4. This navy coat and fascinator
In signature Kate Middleton fashion, the duchess wore a monochromatic sapphire-colored coat, fascinator, and heels to a memorial service marking the end of Britain’s combat in Afghanistan. Needless to say, the maternity outfit looked great with her engagement ring.
5. This jacket … and those boots
While visiting Scotland on official business — and pregnant with Prince George — the duchess strutted the streets in thigh-high boots, a black dress, tights, and a stunning red coat.
6. This peaches-and-cream getup
While in Winchester, England, visiting with children and staff at the Naomi House Children’s Hospice, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a peach-colored jacket and creamy peach dress to match.
7. This jacquard coat
While pregnant with her first born, the Duchess of Cambridge attended The National Review of the Queen’s Scouts at Windsor Castle in a beautiful mint jacquard coat with large bronze buttons and a matching bronze fascinator.
8. This hot pink pea coat
While it may be hard to tell, Kate Middleton was just a few weeks away from giving birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte, in this picture. The duchess hid her bump in a hot pink pea coat while visiting the Stephen Lawrence Centre in South London to support development opportunities for young people.
