As a child, actress Emma Roberts’ mom read books to her. Today, she continues the bedtime tradition. “I love reading,” she told WebMD. “There is nothing better than having a good book that you can’t put down.”

The actress and Goop founder has a surprisingly simple bedtime routine. Gwyneth Paltrow relies on a drugstore product to get herself ready for bed. “I take an Epsom salt bath every night to wind down,” Paltrow told Elle.

Another celebrity who embraces baths is Oprah. “In the evening, I have a bath before bed; it’s a ritual. I’m a bathing professional — I have different bubble baths, salts, beads, and oils,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.

“I am a person who has a hard time shutting off my brain,” she told Owaves. To combat this, she keeps her schedule full of activities like swimming. “If you are active during your day, you will be so exhausted you can’t help but fall asleep.”

Actress Blake Lively is known for her love of fashion and her love of food. Her bedtime routine shows just how much she enjoys chocolate. “I can’t start my day without a cup of hot milk chocolate or finish without crunching a few dark chocolate squares,” Lively told Marie Claire. “It’s good for my morale.”
Hint: Vera Wang gets design inspiration at bedtime.
Fashion designer Vera Wang makes her bedroom a place she wants to be. “My bedroom is my sanctuary,” Wang told Fortune. “It’s like a refuge, and it’s where I do a fair amount of designing — at least conceptually if not literally.” Take a cue from Wang and make your bedroom decor relaxing.
Hint: Drew Barrymore’s bedroom routine involves applying makeup.
“After I do my evening skin-care routine, I line my outer lower lashes with soft-black pencil—usually Flower That’s So Kohl—before I go to bed,” Barrymore told Allure magazine. “It sounds a little crazy, but I wake up with the perfect smudgy eye makeup. I can roll out of bed, do absolutely nothing, and get compliments on my makeup.”
