Mornings can be rough for some guys. You hit snooze a few times, and when you finally get up you barely have enough time to eat and clean up before you have to be a work. That’s understandable. Not everyone is a morning person. But there are few things that you can do to to make the whole process much easier. Grooming and hygiene should be top priority, but you also have take care of yourself first thing. You do that by starting the day on the right foot with a morning routine that helps you feel and look your best. Here a few ideas to get you started.
One of the best things that you can do immediately after waking up is drink a tall glass of cool water. This will wake you up and rehydrate your body. When you don’t drink enough water your skin becomes really dry, and your fine lines appear more visible. Keep healthy by drinking plenty of water daily.
Take care of your face
Improve your appearance with a steady skincare routine. Use a cleanser to wash your face and apply a moisturizer with a broad-spectrum SPF to protect your skin from sun damage. A few times a week, exfoliate your face to unclog pores and get rid of dead cells and ingrown hairs. The skin under your eyes is very sensitive, so give eye cream a try to hydrate the area.
Incorporate exercise into your morning routine. If you’re having trouble sticking to an exercising routine after work then switch it for the morning. It’s a great way to start the day. The best part is that you’ll feel like you accomplished something first thing in the morning while also getting a healthy energy boost.
Eat a good breakfast
Don’t skip breakfast! Eating a healthy breakfast is key to having energy during the day and staying fit. It doesn’t have to be a super complicated meal, but you do need to eat before going off to work. Plan your meals ahead of time to avoid skipping breakfast. Save time by cutting fruit ahead of time or getting granola bars for breakfast on the go.
Take of your teeth
Your teeth are important, too! Take good care of them by brushing them in the morning. Floss often for better oral health and a nice looking smile. Get a floss pick for when you’re out to lunch and need a quick clean.
Get a good night’s sleep
A good morning routine starts by getting enough sleep. Give your mind and body enough time to relax by having a mini bedtime routine. An hour before bed avoid eating a big meal, watching TV, and using any screens. Aim for getting 7-9 hours of sleep to wake up refreshed.
No matter at what time you start your day, sticking to a morning routine will make your mornings much easier.
