There’s a clear theme with slimming garments: They strategically bring attention to your waist. Fit-and-flare dresses accentuate your natural curves by cinching at your waist and expanding at your hips. The result is a more feminine silhouette and twiggy-looking legs extending beneath the dress’s widest point. Even if your torso is shaped pretty straight, a fit-and-flare dress will make your midsection look like it’s been doing overtime at the gym.
3. Black leather pants
You may have noticed models love wearing black leather pants off-duty. Unlike regular jean material, which is built with elastic and a lot of give, leather is going to stick to your thighs, hips, and calves with absolutely no stretch (don’t worry, you can break them in so they’re still comfortable). Black leather pants will make your legs look instantly longer, leaner, and generally more trim than regular jeans. Pair them with your favorite high heels to look even more fit.
4. Bodycon dress
Though they aren’t suitable for every occasion, having a bodycon dress is a very handy slimming weapon to keep in your closet. Consider a bodycon dress a fun adaptation of Spanx that you can wear in public. Any bodycon dress that zips up the back will suction your entire midsection, smoothing any bumps, bulges and lines. Instead of having to suck in your gut, this type of dress will do all the work for you. If you want to look extra fit at a nighttime event, you need to have this dress at your disposal.
5. Fitted pencil skirt with slit
Because pencil skirts reach as high as your belly button and fall slightly above the knee, they have the ability to make your legs look extremely long. They also do a great job of accentuating your booty, narrowing your hips, and flattening any potential muffin top. To take this look to the next level, find a fitted pencil skirt that also has a slit cut into one side. This gives you the opportunity to subtly show off your toned thighs and give the impression that you’re extra lean.
6. Spandex workout leggings
Don’t let anyone tell you spandex leggings aren’t real pants! Compression workout spandex are a gift to society. They suck in your legs, prevent any type of muffin top, and make your butt look instantly toned. Though they’re meant to be worn during exercise, workout leggings can be dressed up to suit just about any situation. Pair them with ankle booties, riding boots, or white sneakers on a day-to-day basis. Or, if you wear them with black heels and a long, loose-fitting blouse, they’ll even look appropriate enough for dinners out on the town.

For those who are unaware, a bodysuit is basically a cotton leotard you wear as a one-piece shirt beneath your pants, skirt, or shorts. They can be the same style as any top you’d normally wear (spaghetti strap, V-neck, sleeves, and even turtleneck).
