Getting a Woman’s Approval on Your Style Choices Is as Easy as Wearing These Things

Some men can be clueless when it comes to style. And if you think your lady doesn’t notice your fashion faux pas, unfortunately, she does. Women love a well-dressed man. This doesn’t mean you need to look like you stepped off a runway or try incredibly hard. Often times, it just means you need a little fine-tuning and an open mind. While specifics might vary, most women would probably say men should wear these things.

1. Jeans that actually fit

This is a huge issue for many men. Their jeans look truly awful. Most of the time, men wear jeans that are too large for them or don’t fit right in the butt (especially on bigger guys). Jeans that flatter your body are an absolute necessity. And no matter what your body type is, a pair that looks great is out there. You just might need to try on until you find it. Don’t be afraid to ask a store sales associate for help. If this already sounds frustrating to you, there’s also the option to go custom. While this sounds like a very expensive service, it doesn’t have to be. Check out Make Your Own Jeans, which can customize a pair for you at a reasonable price.

2. Suits

There’s a reason why women think George Clooney is the sexiest man alive. It’s because he knows how to rock a suit (among other things). Men don’t wear suits nearly enough. This could be because office dress codes are becoming increasingly casual. But, on that rare occasion a man surprises his lady by coming out in a suit, she swoons. If you aren’t a suit kind of a guy, that’s OK. A full-on suit isn’t always necessary or even appropriate. Try adding suit elements to a causal ensemble like wearing jeans with a sport coat or blazer instead of a regular jacket.

3. Classic hats

Baseball caps are fine for a beer with your bros or to the gym, but please stop wearing them to date night. Instead, upgrade to a classic hat. One of our favorite haberdasheries is Goorin Brothers, which has locations throughout the U.S. Their sales associates can make sure you get the right style and, more importantly, a proper fit. And don’t count out J. Crew, which has many reasonably priced options.

4. Something different

Do you wear 20% of your clothing 80% of the time? Then you need to open up your closet and take a good hard look at your wardrobe. After all, there’s a reason why you bought everything in there. Wearing the same thing all the time is boring. Don’t be afraid to branch out and take a fashion risk or two.

5. Cologne (but not too much)

There’s something about a man wearing a dab or two of cologne on his neck that makes women go wild. Like a magic potion, a fresh scent can make an attractive man even more appealing. However, there is a fine line. It’s all about the right amount. A spritz or two of cologne doesn’t mean bathe in it. Furthermore, (please consider this a public service announcement on behalf of all women) some scents will really turn ladies off, such as Cool Water because it smells like bug spray. It wasn’t even cool in the ’90s.

Whether specific colognes will smell good on you or not is entirely dependent upon your body chemistry, so don’t be afraid to try out a few before committing. If you aren’t sure what to buy, ask for a sample. If you are new to the idea of fragrance and don’t know where to start, check out any of Tom Ford’s colognes, all of which are pretty amazing.
