After 10 Years of Marriage, Beyoncé and Jay-Z Remain Silent on Their Anniversary and Fans Are Freaking Out
Anywhere Beyonce goes, her fans are sure to follow. So when she appeared to go nowhere — or at least, released nothing — for her 10th anniversary with rapper Jay-Z, her fans went into panic-mode.
The couple’s silence sparked some rumors, but more-so just serious fan speculation. Here’s everything we know about their anniversary as well as what the future holds for the super-parents/superstars.
Beyoncé recognized their anniversary last year on Instagram
On April 4, 2017, Beyoncé released a new video for her song, “Die with You,” in honor of her nine-year anniversary to rapper Shawn Carter (Jay-Z). She also shared portraits of she and her husband and their matching tattoos as well as holding hands.
“I don’t need air in my lungs. If I can’t sing your song,” she captioned the image of the couple’s matching IV ink.

Fans experienced radio silence this year, and boy did they take it personally
Both Beyoncé and Jay-Z remained silent on social media this year — in fact, Bey’s last post was March 22. Whether they intended to start a frenzy or not, their dedicated fans couldn’t help but question the couple.
“That mysterious silence from Jay-Z and Beyoncé for their 10th anniversary is scaring me, one fan tweeted, while another spared no drama with the claim, “Well it’s official y’all Beyoncé hates us.” Others simply expressed their disappointment that their idols ignored the anniversary altogether.

They speculated she’d drop new music at midnight
It wasn’t a completely outlandish idea: since the two are co-headlining a tour together (next) many fans expect they’ll release new music. The couple has collaborated before, first on 2003’s “Crazy in Love” and again seven other times.
“Hive: Beyoncé is gunna DROP SOMETHING AT 12,” a superfan tweeted, “Beyoncé at 12: [silence].” Another fan took a more passive-aggressive call-to-action: “Hi @beyonce and Jay-Z, you still have 13 hours and 3 mins to release your joint album. Thanks.”

The two announced their OTR II tour in March 2018
When news broke about the power couple’s long-awaited sequel to their 2014 On The Run tour, fans went crazy. They gave the pre-sale opportunity to the Beyhive, Beyoncé’s exclusive fanbase, as well as TIDAL members.
The tour, which spans 21 North American cities, is going to be a family affair. A source told PEOPLE that the couple is “incredibly excited. It took a lot of work to make this happen. It’s the best choice for the family.” The Carters are taking their three kids along for the ride as well. “They will all travel together and have a fun family adventure.”

Jay-Z cheated on Beyonce years ago
A 2014 video that showed Jay-Z’s sister-in-law, Solange Knowles, physically attacking him in an elevator first sparked rumors of the rapper’s infidelity. Beyoncé released Lemonade in 2016 (next) which propelled speculation with lyrics like “You can taste the dishonesty/It’s on your breath.”
Jay-Z admitted to his marital troubles in an interview with Dean Baquet for The New York Times Style Magazine.
Next: Beyoncé didn’t hold back with her truth
She wrote her platinum album ‘Lemonade’ about it
Beyonce has a history of dropping music in only the way Queen Bey can. She released her fifth solo album, Beyonce, without so much as a peep. It still went 2x platinum. She released the first single off Lemonade (“Formation”) in a “guerilla” strike but teased the actual album a bit more.
It soon became a solid clue that Jay-Z had, in fact, cheated on her. The visual album’s storyline clearly chronicles an unfaithful relationship. Fans needed to look no further than the chapter titles: “Intuition,” “Denial,” “Apathy,” “Emptiness,” and “Resurrection” to realize the Carter marriage was shaky.

However, the two seem to be doing just fine
Jay-Z spoke with David Letterman on his Netflix show My Guest Needs No Introduction. The episode, which aired on April 6, 2018 — two days after his anniversary with Beyonce — delved farther into Jay-Z’s adultery than any other interview.
Letterman and Jay-Z spoke of their similar situations — both cheated on their wives and worked to bring their families back together. “Much like you, I have a beautiful wife who was understanding and who knew I’m not the worst of what I’ve done,” Jay-Z told the host. “We love each other, so we really put in the work for years.”
