Astrologists Say the Royal Family Is in For Some Major Changes in 2018
It has been pretty hard to ignore the royal family this year (as if we’d try): both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made headlines weekly. While 2017 was an active year for the United Kingdom’s most famous family, we have no doubt 2018 will be even more exciting.
Other than the already announced events to look forward to, however, is one prediction that we didn’t see coming. Astrologists have offered their opinion on what 2018 could hold for the royal family, and it’s not what we expected (page 5).
It’s no secret that 2018 will be the royal family’s year
They’ve been all over the news cycle, sparking headlines (and rumors associated with those headlines), and inspiring people as to how to live their best (albeit less glamorous) life.
Speculation about how the family spent their New Years Eve included Nottingham Cottage for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Berkshire home for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and a trip to the Scottish Highlands for Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla.
There’s a major wedding planned
Britain’s infamous bachelor is finally tying the knot in May 2018. Prince Harry, who proposed to Suits actress and philanthropist Meghan Markle in late November, has said that Markle is doing “amazing” alongside his family.
The wedding is projected to attract even more viewers than the 50 million Americans and Brits who watched Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials. The pair will wed at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle: The same church Harry was christened in at three months old.
Kate and Will are expecting
As Markle and Prince Harry prepare for their wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are making preparations of their own to welcome their third child. Kate’s baby is due in April, and the newborn will be fifth in line to the throne.
U.K. bookies have already made bets on the name of the royal baby. The odds look in favor for the birth of a princess, considering the most popular potential moniker across the board is Alice, at 10 to 1 odds. Victoria is also a popular choice for bookies betting on the new royal’s name.
Queen Elizabeth II is being her fabulous self
Her Netflix show (well, one designed after her younger self’s rise to power, that is) took off with its second season and the public was ready as ever to learn about the intricate details of the queen’s young adult life.
Filled with personal intrigue, political unrest, and multiple romances and rivalries, The Crown gave royal-obsessed viewers a new way to indulge in the inner workings of Queen Elizabeth II’s life. Meanwhile, the real-life Elizabeth celebrated her Diamond anniversary (70 years!) with husband Prince Philip in November.
An astrologist recently predicted some major changes
This year marks the entrance into Taurus according to astrologer Helen Sewell, who offered her predictions as to what this new age could mean for the royal family and the United Kingdom as a whole. The journey “into Taurus” begins between 2018 and 2025, and Swewll said that it governed everything to do with the earth, money, and banking.
As for the royal family, Sewell believes that we may see changes in the “institution of the monarchy,” as “Pluto goes through Capricorn,” noting that the position of Neptune could lead to a spiritual renaissance for the U.K.
The astrologist made predictions for the political and economic future of the Brits as well
“Maybe they will finally realize the system really needs to be reformed,” Sewell said, making claims that when Pluto goes into Aquarius in 2023 it will be very political, and the U.K. will see changes in the way the political system is run.
She also said Taurus, which astrologists claim we’ll enter in the next few years, governs everything to do with money and banking: “Out of the blue” changes include a Bitcoin, cashless society.
In conclusion …
While not everyone agrees on the validity of astrology and its ability to predict the future, it’s evident off the bat that 2018 will be a revolutionary year for the royal family. Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, turns 70 years old, and Markle and Prince Harry will make their first royal tour following their wedding.
Maybe, if we’re lucky, Kate and Will’s kids will even get a new cousin … Markle has claimed she wants to have kids in the near future.
