Hernandez suffered a stroke in July 2017 that left her partially blind. But even though she hadn’t made a full recovery from her stroke, she insisted she wanted to continue working. She was only in her early 30s at the time of her stroke, and although it’s rare to suffer a stroke at that age, it does happen. A stroke occurs when oxygen and blood supply to the brain are interrupted.

When Hernandez’s doctor advised she not return to work for Chyna, she insisted she had to. Hernandez, a mother of three, had to continue working in order to support her children. She returned to work on Chyna’s clothing line, 88 Fin, to provide for her family. But in December 2017, she suffered a severe brain bleed that put her back in the hospital and forced her to terminate her fourth pregnancy.

Just two weeks after terminating her pregnancy, Hernandez took a turn for the worse. She suffered a seizure and triggered another brain bleed. According to Hernandez’s GoFundMe page, this bleed was worse than the last. It sent Hernandez into a coma. About four months later, her family finally decided to take her off life support.

Hernandez’s condition was heard around Hollywood, and several important people made donations. Most notably, both of Chyna’s exes donated to the Hernandez’s medical fund. Tyga, with whom Chyna shares a son, donated $5,000 under his birth name, Michael Stevenson. Rob Kardashian, Chyna’s ex-fiance, donated $10,000. It’s likely the men knew Chyna’s assistant. Singer-songwriter Jeffree Star also reportedly donate $10,000. The GoFundMe goal was $50,000.

After Hernandez’s family made the decision to take her off life support, her husband decided to file a lawsuit against Chyna for allegedly abusing his wife and not providing her worker’s compensation when she fell ill. A source close to Hernandez said Chyna never did anything to help his wife. The source said Chyna helped spread the word and reached out to the fathers of Hernandez’s children, but nothing more.

Another harsh claim made against Chyna is that she never showed up the hospital to check on how Hernandez was doing. According to a report by Page Six, a source said Chyna only came to the hospital once to make sure nobody gave out information about her. “After that, she never came back,” the source said. Chyna recently came under fire after allegedly trying to hit someone at a theme park with her daughter’s stroller. It left many questioning her parenting. Now, this incident leaves us questioning her compassion.

Hernandez’s family decided to keep her on life support for a while so her organs could be harvested and donated to people in need. The source told Page Six, “Her husband decided to donate her organs … So that she can give the gift of life to other families.” Although Hernandez’s death won’t be in vain, her husband is now turning to his lawyers to get justice for his wife’s alleged abuse by Chyna.
