Every Royal Wedding Attendee We Didn’t Expect to See (and the 1 You Never Saw Coming)

We all expected to see the likes of Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, Elton John, and David and Victoria Beckham at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding at Windsor Castle. These celebrities are well-known as pals of the royal couple. However, various unexpected stars and acquaintances surprisingly showed up.

Here we’ll list who these unexpected guests were and how they know the newlyweds. See which disgraced royal made it to the church (page 2) and which American A-lister’s appearance surprised everyone (page 9).

1. George and Amal Clooney

Meghan got to know Amal when she moved to Britain. (The Clooneys live just a 30-minute drive from Windsor). A mutual friend introduced the two. They also reportedly share a hair stylist, Miguel Perez. He styled both Meghan’s and Amal’s hair for the royal occasion, People reported.

At the chapel, Amal, 40, made a colorful splash in a marigold Prada gown with a matching hat, while George donned a dark grey suit with a pale pink tie. George smiled at the crowd and said, “Hi, guys.”

It turns out the controversial ex-wife of Prince Andrew, disliked by Prince Philip, was on the guest list after all. She wore a navy skirt suit and matching fascinator to the wedding ceremony, where she did not sit next to her ex and daughters Eugenie and Beatrice.

However, the disgraced royal was reportedly not invited to the evening reception and was not happy about it. (Back in 2011, she notably wasn’t on the guest list for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.)

Seeing this ex-girlfriend of Harry at the wedding may or may not surprise you — seeing he’s on good terms with Chelsy Davy — but when it comes to exes, one never really knows. The two dated between 2004 and 2011.

Davy, 32, arrived at the chapel in a two-piece navy Alaia dress and matching fascinator. While she was all smiles outside, Some Twitter users commented she looked pensive once inside St. George’s Chapel.

Bonas, 28, wore a colorful midi dress by Eponine London, called a colorfully bohemian statement, and a pale pink feathered headpiece.

Rarely-seen British singer Joss Stone made a surprising appearance at the chapel. Many failed to recognize her at first, reports said. She cut a grown-up figure in a delicate floral dress with matching cream-colored fascinator, her blond hair shorter.

The “Love Me” singer has long been friends with princes Harry and William. They met in 2005 at a fundraiser and have kept in touch at other charity events.

The TV talk show queen was a surprise guest at the wedding. She hasn’t been mentioned by Harry, Meghan, or their families. However, Oprah spent six hours with Meghan’s mom, Dora Ragland, reports say. The two met to plan a tell-all interview about racism Meghan was subjected to when her relationship with the price went public, according to Daily Mail.

The celebrity guest was all smiles on the wedding day in a pink Stella McCartney dress, paired with a plumed hat.
