After Spending $400,000 Human Ken Doll Reveals He Wants More Plastic Surgery to Become Barbie
Recent reports of the mother-of-five who spent half a million to look like a “Human Barbie,” have sparked mass Internet coverage for other plastic surgery-obsessed people. Among them is Rodrigo Alves, the infamous “Human Ken Doll” who has spent nearly as much as Barbie to look the part.
Alves’ story is unique and reveals the surprising motivation behind his media appearances. One reality star, in particular, is the inspiration for Alves’ plans for the future (page 6).
Who is he?
Alves, 43, is a Brazilian Brit living in London. He’s spent over $400,000 on procedures to transform himself from the body he was born with into what has been called the ‘Human Ken Doll.’
“Rodrigo Alves became known worldwide for his courage in reinventing himself with the help of plastic surgery. This has given him the confidence to express himself with a unique fashion style, and has led him to be happy to enjoy life and a better lifestyle,” his website states. You won’t believe which reality TV star is the inspiration for his future surgical plans (page 6).
He makes media appearances for surprising reasons
Alves has appeared on over 55 TV shows worldwide as well as a few conferences to share his message with his Instagram followers and fans. When it comes to making media appearances, his aim is to educate people about plastic surgeries and various aesthetic procedures and what it has done for his life.
He also hopes to “break the taboo” that surrounds cosmetic enhancements as well as educate about the potential adverse side effects of going under the knife. He recently told The Sun Online how he wished people would respect his “courage and bravery” for his years of surgical procedures.
This is why he began getting the procedures
Older pictures of Alves show the then-teenager with a fuller face and physique, all of which he’s had cosmetically altered. He had his first nose job at 19 and the rest was history.
Alves admitted he looked very different as a teenager and spent his childhood struggling with his self-image. “Male perfection is to me having symmetry. So a chiseled face, broad shoulders, a lean figure, a prominent jawline, defined abs, and a chest in proportion.” Alves admitted he looked very different as a teenager.
He had to undergo these procedures to become ‘Ken’
Becoming Ken was no easy feat. Alves first went under the knife in 2004 and has racked up a long list of surgeries over the last 13 years. He’s had Botox injections and fillers, multiple nose jobs, liposuction on his legs and jaw, pectoral implants and a fake six-pack created, arm fillers, a hair transplant, and calf shaping.
Alves celebrated his 34th birthday with his tenth rhinoplasty surgery and operation to give him cat-like eyes.
His next procedure may be his riskiest yet
Recent reports on Alves’ ongoing transformations reveal that the Human Ken isn’t stopping yet. He’s heading to L.A. to undergo his 60th operation. He’s having ribs removed from his body in an effort to appear thinner.
Alves opted for the controversial rib removal procedure after being told he cannot have any more liposuction, which he’s had on 20 different occasions so far. His family told The Sun Online that they fear he’ll die on the operating table, however, Alvez responded, “I will keep going. There is no such thing as plastic surgery killing you.”
He’s undergoing a sex change to become a ‘Human Barbie’
Alves is getting hair implants along with his rib removal. He wants the rib removal “Simply because I want a smaller waist,” and says he likes wearing double-breasted and slim-fit blazers. “I’m gonna have a classic figure. It’s going to make my waist tiny.”
This surgery comes right after he revealed on Italian TV he is planning to have a sex change and transform into a “Human Barbie” instead of Ken. He wouldn’t go through with this until he’s in his late 50s, Alves claims.
Caitlin Jenner was his inspiration
Alves says he has taken inspiration from Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Caitlyn Jenner after she came out as a woman in 2015 and underwent a gender reassignment surgery. “I am very happy to be a man for now, but I don’t want to be an old saggy man,” Alves said.
Alves told interviewers on This Morning that he was born into the wrong body and plans to turn himself into a real-life Barbie in the future.
Alves is part of an agency for ‘modified human beings’
Alves along with a Kim Kardashian wannabe (Jennifer Pamplona) and Jessica Rabbit imitator (Pixee Fox) have signed onto a new agency for ‘modified humans.’ Headlines report that the three will star in a new reality show, Plastics of Hollywood, alongside a group of 12 plastic surgery frequenters.
“From surgery and procedures, the dolls have spent over three million dollars altering how they look … For these people, it’s about the need to become somebody else because they were born in the wrong body,” said agency head Marcela Iglesias.
