March 1, 2018, was a terrible day for Instagram star Claudia Oshry, known for her handle Girl With No Job. She and her sister, Jackie, had their new talk show canceled by Verizon’s Oath network after some old tweets of theirs resurfaced that were considered very controversial. But the ladies’ tweets weren’t the only issue — it came to light that their mother is Pamela Geller, an outspoken right-wing author and commentator know for her anti-Muslim activism and flamboyant racism.
Oshry has said she doesn’t share her mother’s views, and she’s far from the first person to be embarrassed by the actions of their families. We can’t control who our parents are, but we’re betting some of these public figures wish they could.
Jessica Simpson: Her dad calls her ‘sexy’
Jessica Simpson’s father, Joe, has famously praised her body — specifically, her breasts — on the record. In 2004, he told GQ, “Jessica never tries to be sexy. She just is sexy. If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!” Perhaps her dear old dad should stick to praising her talents.

Speaking of creepy dads, Ivanka Trump might seem unfazed by her father’s incessant comments about her body, but it’s impossible not to be a little embarrassed when your dad says he’d be dating you if you weren’t his daughter. Donald Trump also once joked about the nature of his relationship with Ivanka on The Wendy Williams Show, implying that they enjoyed sex. Yikes.

Nicole Richie’s father, Lionel Richie, is immensely talented. But she has confessed on more than one occasion that she can’t stand to watch him dance. “So I was more into the ballads [because] watching my dad dance … I just get so embarrassed,” she said. “My sister and I were standing next to each other, and we were like, ‘Someone tell him to stop dancing.'”

In fact, Lewinsky herself praised Clinton for her “grit and grace.”

I have determined that it is not healthy for me to be around my father.”
