Jenelle Evans of Teen Mom 2 fame is having trouble staying out of the headlines these days. While she’s known for her multiple failed relationships and fights with co-stars, now she’s turning heads for all the wrong reasons on social media.
Soon after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting, Jenelle and her husband posted a few untimely photos online. The couple blames the backlash on bad timing, of course. But you can see for yourself what was posted and why.
1. Jenelle Evans and her relationships continue to stir the pot
David Eason seemed like the most sensible of any man Jenelle’s been with — though recent findings suggest otherwise. Either way, we’ll never forget Kieffer Delp, who Jenelle was arrested with due to drug possession and breaking and entering charges. Kieffer was also busted for running a meth lab, TMZ reports.
He’s not the only one of Jenelle’s exes who’s had a run-in with the law. Nathan Griffith, her ex-fiancé and father to one of her sons, was arrested due to a traffic violation, E! News says. And now, Jenelle’s love life is breaking the internet yet again.

2. Jenelle’s husband uploaded this photo of her holding a gun
It was Valentine’s Day when Nikolas Cruz stormed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Seventeen students and faculty members passed away from the incident, and many others faced life-threatening injuries. While members of the community press for change, Jenelle’s husband, David, posted a few highly-insensitive photos.
David posted photos of Jenelle holding a gun on Instagram just hours after the Parkland shooting. Not only was it a firearm, but it also appears to be an AR-15 — the same weapon the shooter used.
Next: David didn’t help matters with the way he responded to the backlash.
3. He then posted a meme in response to the backlash
David’s Instagram photo didn’t go unnoticed. He received a lot of backlash, with one user asking, “Do you even watch the news? Listen to the radio? Such bad timing,” OK! Magazine reports.
Instead of promptly apologizing, David chose a whole different route altogether. He posted a meme just two days later in support of gun ownership. “Everyone needs to focus on keeping their family protected and safe instead of focusing on how to deplete our country of its self protection rights!” he added to the post.
Next: The ill-timed Instagram posts didn’t stop there.
4. Jenelle then uploaded a photo of her son with a toy gun just days later
As if her husband didn’t receive enough backlash, Jenelle took the situation one step further by posting photos of her son holding a toy gun on social media. In Touch Weekly reports the Teen Mom star took to Instagram just a week after the Parkland shooting to upload the photo. It shows her 3-year-old son, Kaiser, holding the toy and hiding in the grass like he’s ready to shoot.
David Eason also posted photos of the young Kaiser, with many saying the images and the timing are both inappropriate.

5. Twitter viciously attacked the Teen Mom 2 star
Jenelle made a minor attempt at an apology on Twitter, where she wrote “Bad timing.” That wasn’t enough for many other social media users, however. As one Twitter user commented, “David is a serial abuser. You’re a known drug addict with documented mental health issues. You should not be touching any firearms.”
Kaiser’s father and Jenelle’s ex, Nathan Griffith, allegedly didn’t approve of the photos either. As one source tells Radar Online, “He does not support that. … Nathan doesn’t even allow Kaiser to watch cartoons with guns.”
Next: David’s thoughts on gun control were loud and clear on Twitter.
6. David Eason caused a major scene on Twitter with his gun control comments
This isn’t the first time Jenelle’s boyfriend found himself at the center of controversy. In Touch Weekly reports on Feb. 18, David and a Twitter user duked it out on the social media platform in a debate regarding gun control.
David linked to an article about concealed carry gun laws for schools in South Carolina while also saying we need to protect our kids “the only way we know how.” In response, the user said protecting kids “starts with intentional parenting.” David responded angrily then, asking, “And just what makes you think you have a right to tell me how to be a parent?” Things only got uglier from there.
Next: David went way too far on social media, resulting in his firing.
7. He deleted his account and was fired by MTV
The feud regarding gun control between David and the Twitter user was taken too a whole new level of inappropriate. In Touch Weekly says David went on to post, “LMAO, why don’t you go tell the homo and transgender parents to start teaching their kids better morals,” following the pro-gun posts. MTV promptly fired him after this outburst.
It appears David’s comments may have put Jenelle’s MTV career in jeopardy, too. OK! Magazine reports the network is questioning whether they should add her on to the next season.
