The HGTV couple first surprised fans in fall 2017 by announcing they’d be ending their popular television show, Fixer Upper, after its fifth season. In January, they shocked fans once again by announcing they are expecting a fifth child. In March, they shared they’re having a baby boy.

The couple never specified whether pregnancy was the reason for ending the show. But they said they wanted to take more time to be with their family.

Chip and Joanna have four kids together, and they’re all close in age. They range from 8 to 13, so it’s been a long time since Joanna has carried a baby. She was still in her early 30s the last time she got pregnant.

Some experts say having a baby past 35 can lead to complications with both the child and the pregnancy. But Chip and Joanna didn’t let that stop them from growing their family.

Joanna posted a photo of herself and her baby bump on social media with the caption, “This is 40. And I like it…” She used the hashtags #pregnantandforty and #anddoughnuts, showing off her bump and a plate of doughnuts. Chip also wished her a happy birthday on Twitter, saying, “Happy birthday sweet girl!” He said for any new follower Joanna received on her big day, he’d donate $1 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Joanna told her fans, “I joke with my friends that it feels like it’s my first time being pregnant.” She said it’s because she hasn’t been pregnant in so many years, so she forgot what it felt like. But she said her pregnancy has been “so fun” so far because she takes plenty of naps and eats a lot. What more could anyone ask for? She clearly isn’t passing up the doughnuts, and we’re happy to see that.

Joanna told ET Online that in addition to eating a lot of her favorite foods, she’s also having fun because she doesn’t have to chase her kids around. “I am having so much [fun] now that my kids are older,” she said. “Back then I had four kids [aged] four and under.” She said it would have been hard to have a fifth child years ago because she was still in the thick of trying to figure out parenthood.

In addition to the Gaines kids being older, they’re also aware of what will soon be happening. According to People, Joanna told her fans the best thing about her pregnancy is how excited her kids are for their new brother. She also said her kids were too young to remember her last pregnancy, so it’s as if they’re all experiencing this for the first time.

“House divided,” Chip told Today. Joanna said because Chip is getting the little boy he wants, she should get the name she wants. Right now, the couple has two boys whose names start with the letter D (Drake and Duke) and two girls whose names start with the letter E (Ella and Emmie). Although the couple didn’t disclose their list of potential names, Joanna did say she wants a “C” name, but Chip wants a “D” name.

Chip joked on Today that Joanna’s pregnancy has been great for him because he always dated bigger-boned women when he was younger, so he’s loving her pregnancy curves. Also, when the couple arrived at the set of Today, Chip joined the other Fixer Upper fans on the streets of New York City to cheer on his wife’s new cookbook. He also held a sign that read, “I heart Joanna Gaines.”
