Kate Middleton Reveals Her Favorite Foods, Including the 1 Indulgence She Can’t Refuse

Kate Middleton always looks flawless — and a lot of that is due to her diet. But the duchess’ diet changes based on what she’s going through in life (her wedding diet, pregnancy diet, etc.). So what are Kate’s go-to foods for these occasions? We took a look at what she eats the most — plus the one food she can’t resist (page 5).

Kate wanted to look and feel her best for her 2011 wedding to Prince William. She reportedly followed the Dukan diet in the weeks leading up to her wedding to get the slim figure she had on her big day. This diet is high in protein and low in carbs. It consists of four “phases” of eating that help you lose weight while building better eating habits. But the diet comes with a suppressive amount of rules — so it’s no wonder Kate looked so good on her big day.

Kate wasn’t shy about how much she struggled with debilitating morning sickness during her first two pregnancies. According to reports, her third pregnancy brought on the same intense nausea that she saw in the first two, so it was necessary to adjust her diet. Kate reportedly stuck to hearty, healthy foods — including avocados, oatmeal, and fresh fruit — to help her put on the proper weight during pregnancy even while constantly getting sick. Kate has also reportedly added ginger into her diet to help combat her nausea.

She eats only raw foods 1 day per week

Kate’s glowing skin is thanks to an interesting diet choice: raw foods. No, that’s not raw chicken and beef. It’s raw dishes, such as ceviche (a Mexican dish featuring raw, marinated fish), salads, and gazpacho. According to Woman’s World, Kate takes one day of her week to eat only “raw” foods, which she does to help keep her glowing skin healthy. She consumes the raw foods because they have a higher nutrient content than cooked foods.

Kate does keep strict tabs on what she eats, but she also likes to experience new things. When William and Kate attended a food and wine festival in British Columbia, Canada, the couple decided to try a giant clam, known as geoduck, which most people steer clear from due to its unappealing appearance. However, Kate broke her rule of not eating in public and tasted the clam. She noted how fresh it tasted and appeared to enjoy it. It’s true that everyone needs a little adventure in their diets.

That 1 food she can’t resist? Sticky toffee pudding

During the holidays, Kate lets loose a bit and enjoys some delicious holiday dishes. But the one dish she definitely can’t resist is a dessert known as sticky toffee pudding. In fact, chef Rhody Warot of the Old Boot Inn, a restaurant in England, says Kate is very partial to the dessert. He said the Middleton family dines at the restaurant very often, and Kate loves it. And Kate also enjoys the dessert at her own holiday parties. Clearly, she can’t get enough of it.

On a regular day, Kate’s diet is heavy in hearty veggies and lean protein, such as grilled chicken and fish. Kate has also learned to cook some homemade meals through the years and reportedly enjoys making vegetable curries. However, she has said she’s not the best cook — and William has said he doesn’t have a knack for cooking, either. Kate values family time. And when she goes home to visit her parents, everyone eats dinner together, just like old times.

But she definitely doesn’t like almond milk

Kate has said you can’t believe everything you read in the tabloids. And that’s because she frequently reads falsities about herself. In fact, when William and Kate went to dine at a cafe run by a charity, Kate was greeted with almond milk at her table. The woman who runs the charity had read that she likes it. “Don’t believe everything you read,” Kate said. “I don’t even like almond milk.”
