Lea Michele Reveals Her Surprisingly Easy Weight Loss Secrets
Ever wonder how celebrities stay in such great shape? Well, for one, many have personal trainers, cooks that make them healthy meals, and some even have a gym in their home. That said, not all celebrities have such an unattainable fitness regimen. In fact, for Lea Michele, it’s quite the opposite. She may be a famous Hollywood actress, but her workout routine and weight loss secrets aren’t that different from other women her age.

1. Get some fresh air
When it comes to losing weight, Lea Michele keeps it fun and fresh with outdoor hikes. One of the actress’ favorite ways to stay fit is exploring all of the beautiful hiking trails near her home in Los Angeles. One of her favorites? Runyon Canyon in Hollywood.
2. Eat healthy, but don’t be too hard on yourself
In an interview with Shape, Lea Michele spilled one of her biggest weight loss secrets: eating healthy. But, her key to eating healthy isn’t what you would think. “I really don’t deprive myself,” said the starlet. “I work out really hard and I eat healthy, so I never really feel guilty about the things that I’m eating.”
According to Shape, the actress usually has a salad for lunch and then indulges a bit more with dinner. She loves sushi, and can often be seen at some of Los Angeles’ hottest vegan restaurants: Gracias Madres and Real Food Daily. That said, she loves herself a large bowl of pasta on occasion, too.
3. Try something new
In addition to hiking, Lea Michele is all about switching it up and trying something new. One of her favorite workouts? SoulCycle. One scroll through her Instagram account and you’ll see just how devoted the actress is to the trendy workout class.
4. Stretch it out
Another go-to workout for weight loss? Yoga. The star swears by her CorePower hot yoga classes for its fitness and wellness benefits.
5. Step off the scale
In her interview with Shape, the actress touched a bit on everyone’s weight loss enemy: the scale. Stating, “I’ve been skinnier and I’ve been a little bit bigger, and I’m never hard on myself one way or the other. The fact that I’m active, eating well, and taking care of myself is all that matters — not a number.”
6. Get a good night’s sleep
In order to feel energized for a morning workout — or weight loss journey in general — it’s important to get a good night’s sleep. After all, sleep is the body’s regeneration. Lea Michele could not agree more. “Sleep is the number one thing that gives me energy,” said the actress. And with all the hiking, cycling, and yoga she does on a regular basis, she needs all the energy she can get.
7. Stay true to yourself and be grateful for right now
At the end of the day, Lea Michele realizes that her weight loss and fitness journey means nothing if she doesn’t love herself and feel grateful for the present. Not only does the star work hard on remaining true to who she is, she takes time every day to feel grateful for where she is at, too. “I genuinely wake up every day with a really big smile on my face because I love my life,” said Michele. The more you love yourself and happier you are, the more motivated you will feel to focus on your body and weight loss goals.
