Meghan Markle Has Revealed Her Dieting Tips — and They’re Way More User-Friendly Than We Thought
Prior to her lovely 2018 wedding, royal watchers began wondering if Meghan Markle would adopt Kate Middleton’s wedding diet from 2011. As it turns out, the American actress has a healthy eating regimen that she would put into play when she was starring on the show Suits. In an interview, the new royal unveils a “diet” plan that is so user-friendly, anyone can try it without feeling deprived.
She doesn’t ditch carbs!
Many “get slim” remedies involve completely kicking carbohydrates to the curb. But as Meghan told Delish in 2016, her on-the-job diet menu still included pasta. The article lists her go-to dinner as pasta with zucchini and “lots of Parmesan cheese.” She is also likely to have a glass of red wine in hand.

Her go-to dessert is full of antioxidants
Instead of diving into a sinful dessert option, Meghan tells delish that she almost always opts for a “big, beautiful red” wine instead. Which is much more diet-friendly, especially when you consider that a glass of antioxidant-rich red wine is considered part of the highly popular Mediterranean diet.

A very healthy morning starter
The rest of the day, Meghan Markle allegedly keeps to a much stricter meal plan. A day during filming typically started with hot water with lemon, which is a natural and healthy appetite suppressant. Breakfast typically consisted of steel-cut oatmeal with banana — two foods that guarantee to fuel the body and keep you full for longer.

Snacks are a must
The time she spent preparing for the wedding and her role as a royal must have been exhausting. Much like being on set filming a TV show all day! So it’s no surprise that Meghan has a go-to afternoon snack plan to keep her going. But instead of reaching for a bag of chips or a coffee, she sticks to healthier fair, like apples and green juice.

The food considered a ‘necessary evil’
Prince Harry’s fiance told Delish that she views her afternoon green juice like most people view their mid-afternoon caffeine kick. “Green juice is a food-as-medicine philosophy for me,” she told the publication. She told Today.com that those wanting to go the green juice route should “play with the recipe” to find a mix of fruits and vitamins that works best for you.
Next: And for lunch…
A well-rounded midday meal
Now that she’s a royal full-time, a long day of public appearances and royal duties leave Meghan little time for an indulgent lunch. Good thing she has her go-to midday meal from long days on set — salad loaded with a protein — is the perfect well-rounded meal for any busy day.
Next: But does she always follow this plan?
Embrace the ‘off day’ menu
Meghan is a self-proclaimed foodie. And in addition to loving to cook, she knows how to indulge in her favorite things every now and then. “French fries and vino are my vices,” she told Delish. “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries.”
