This Is What Melania Trump Actually Does Every Day
The question is: What does Melania Trump do all day? We delved into her social media, engagements, and projects to discover how the first lady spends her day — including the one surprising thing she and Donald Trump recently skipped (page 7).
1. She fits in a workout
The former model revealed a few of her workout secrets from her days in Trump Tower. Not one to go out much, Melania reportedly conducts “light workouts” she can complete in the comfort of her home. They include using ankle weights and doing Pilates.
She follows a healthy diet with the help of the White House chef. She told GQ she tries to eat seven pieces of fruit per day. And she follows a meticulous skin regimen and went on record “against Botox.”

2. She takes care of Barron
Melania has gone on record multiple times saying she’s an extremely hands-on parent, despite the full-time nanny she employs. “I am a full-time mom; that is my first job. The most important job ever,” she told Parenting.
People criticized Ivanka Trump for barely mentioning her two nannies in her book Women Who Work. Similarly, it remains unclear how much Melania Trump takes care of Barron compared to her nannies. In 2015, she shared that she prepared breakfast and lunch for Barron, dropped him off and picked him up from school, and spent time after school with him.

3. She attends meetings, meetings, and more meetings
Melania tweeted that her first week in 2018 was productive with “meetings, meetings & more meetings!” So what are these meetings all about? In 2017, the first lady tweeted about an upcoming meeting with the president and Thomas Price, former secretary of Health and Human Services, about the opioid crisis.
Melania made a pledge to tackle the opioid crisis after the president declared it a national emergency. The White House released a statement about the first lady’s plans, saying, “Opioid abuse is an escalating health crisis affecting countless families across the country.” It also explained, “The well-being of children is a priority for the first lady, and this epidemic affects them in many different ways, so she requested to attend today’s briefing.”

4. She promotes certain causes
Michelle Obama promoted her passion for healthy living. Laura Bush worked to improve literacy. “What will Melania do?” was the question on many people’s minds in November 2016.
While she initially expressed her desire to address cyberbullying, Melania shifted her focus to “advocate for children and families whose lives have been affected by addiction.” Now, Melania’s communication director, Stephanie Grisham, says she’s focusing on “the overall well-being of children and teaching themselves how to grow up happy and healthy and become morally responsible adults.”

5. She decorates the White House
Melania hired Tham Kannalikham, a Laotian-American interior designer, to help her redecorate the Obama’s White House.
The first lady’s then-senior adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff released a statement about Melania’s choice for the White House’s interior: “Mrs. Trump has a deep appreciation for the historical aspects of the White House … they are focusing on a seamless integration of elegance and comfort into where the president, the first lady, and Barron will be spending their family time and calling their home.”
Next: Melania has to step in the limelight for this duty.
6. She organizes high-profile events
Melania might be a private person, but she still coordinates and hosts White House events. She has hosted the White House Easter Egg Roll, where she read to the visiting children. She also went through meticulous preparations for the White House state dinner with the French president and his wife.
7. She didn’t celebrate her wedding anniversary
Jan. 22, 2018, marked Melania and Donald Trump’s 13th anniversary. However, the two apparently did nothing to celebrate the occasion, sparking rumors they might be headed for divorce. On the evening of their anniversary, communications director Stephanie Grisham announced Melania would no longer join the president on his trip to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland due to “scheduling and logistical issues.”
The couple also neglected their anniversary in 2017. Melania flew back to New York at the end of the inaugural weekend while the president remained in Washington, D.C.
