The 2 Things Melania Trump Eats for Breakfast Every Day
Melania Trump still eats like a model, even though she’s in a much different spotlight as America’s first lady.
As the whole world watches her and her family, she does her best to keep things as “normal” as possible — as much as anyone forever haunted by scandals can. Sometimes, that means keeping things in the kitchen simple and familiar.
Though she lives in the White House, her breakfast routine is surprisingly mundane. Here’s what a morning with Melania might look like, including her favorite go-to breakfast (No. 9). We’ll also take a quick look at Donald Trump’s breakfast and eating habits (No. 10).
1. What is it like to eat in the White House?
A typical White House breakfast probably doesn’t look much different from any other American table, unless yours usually sits empty.
It’s the White House executive chef’s job to feed the first family and their special guests. While the president often requests recreations of his favorite McDonald’s foods, Melania tends to keep things simple — and healthy.

2. She doesn’t ‘do’ fad diets
There are a lot of pointless dietary “quick fixes” out there, but you won’t see this former model go near any of them. She credits hydration, pilates, and a diet filled with fruits, veggies, and fiber for helping her get back in shape after her son was born.
Next: This is why she cares about her diet so much.
3. It’s about staying healthy — and about looking good
Melania Trump’s beauty regimen and her eating habits go hand in hand. Appearances do matter when you’re married to the president of the United States, but she has plenty of experience in this department. A professional model knows how to take care of herself as best she can.

4. Her drink of choice
Melania says sleep, moisturizer, and plenty of water help to keep her skin looking and feeling youthful. She occasionally lets herself drink a Diet Coke, but for the most part, water seems to be her ultimate beverage of choice.
Hydrating is an essential component of safety and health. You probably don’t need to drink as much water as Tom Brady, but at least aim for 80 ounces (about 2.3 liters) every day.
Next: She probably takes more vitamins than you.
5. She totally ACEs her vitamin regimen
If you’re not following Melania Trump’s daily morning vitamin regimen, you should be. Vitamins A, C, and E provide antioxidants that can help reduce disease risk and keep you looking and feeling younger.
You can get these and other vitamins through your food, but you can also take supplements if you don’t think you’re getting enough from meals and snacks.

6. She treats herself, and doesn’t mind
Like many other women, she regularly treats herself with ice cream or dark chocolate. But she doesn’t splurge uncontrollably or feel guilty about it afterward. She believes a healthy diet can and should include a little something extra.

7. Her favorite ‘splurge’ meal
Melania supports the idea of balance, believing it’s important to indulge now and then as long as you’re eating a variety of healthy foods.
The occasional chicken parmesan dish from New York City-based Jean-Georges Restaurants isn’t something she’ll refuse when she’s close by. The restaurant is known for its dedication to sustainability, meaning the food is not only as healthy as it can be, but it’s good for the environment, too.

8. She starts her day with a smoothie
Melania Trump eats at least seven servings of fruit every day, and sometimes, it comes in the form of a smoothie. Smoothies are a great way to add extra vitamins and other nutrients to your diet, especially first thing in the morning.
The healthiest smoothies are the ones you blend yourself, sweetened naturally instead of the flavored syrups most restaurants use.
Next: When a smoothie isn’t an option, she chooses this for breakfast instead.
9. Oatmeal is her go-to breakfast
For some people, a smoothie every morning works. For many others, it’s too time-consuming, or not quite filling enough.
When the first lady wants to mix things up a little, she has oatmeal instead of a smoothie. Steel-cut oats mixed with spices and other add-ons provide the fiber and protein necessary for an energy-filled, hunger-free morning.

10. He typically turns down breakfast
Most people feel ashamed to admit forgoing the day’s first meal, but Donald doesn’t feel quite so sheepish. During an appearance on Watters’ World, he said he usually tries to avoid breakfast. On the rare occasion he does eat in the a.m., he said in the interview he likes bacon and eggs or cereal. Maybe more surprising than skipping food, though, is the lack of caffeine as he prefers to stay away from coffee and tea.
Next: Donald avoids this and advises his children to do the same.
11. No alcohol for Donald
Donald is not nearly as healthy of an eater as Melania, but during a town hall meeting in 2015, he told the audience he doesn’t drink alcohol and never has. He even urged parents to encourage their children to abstain from alcohol and drugs. He does, however, order virgin drinks sometimes. For instance, Trump washed down his burger at 21 Club with a virgin Bloody Mary in 2016 while out for dinner with his family.
The tragic reason behind President Trump’s sobriety? His older brother, Fred Trump, “one of those heart-breaking men who could not stop drinking,” was a dangerously unhealthy alcoholic. According to Donald, when Fred went off to college, he began to drink too much. “He would tell me, ‘Don’t ever drink. Don’t ever drink,'” and Donald has heeded that advice.

12. He doesn’t eat pizza crust
Donald doesn’t eat the crust on his pizza because he believes abstaining will help keep his weight down. He explained that he uses his knife and fork to separate the top of the pizza from the bottom, leaving the crust and eating the rest. If you ask us, that seems like a lot of work when he could eat the pizza with his hands and stop when he gets to the crust. But, to each his own.

13. Donald likes food well-done and rarely eats breakfast
He’s famous for liking his steak well-done, too. “It would rock on the plate, it was so well done,” Anthony Senecal, the longtime butler at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, told The New York Times in 2016.
Next: This is what Donald loves to order at McDonald’s.
14. He loves eating at McDonald’s
During a CNN Town Hall, Trump told Anderson Cooper he loves McDonald’s, specifying, “The Quarter Pounder. It’s great stuff.” He’s also a fan of Big Macs and Filet-o-Fish sandwiches. Toss in a Diet Coke and you have one of Donald’s favorite combinations. He even made frequent stops at the golden arches on the campaign trail.
Next: Donald isn’t afraid to send this food back if it’s not cooked exactly to his liking.
15. He’s particular about his french fries
Here’s an interesting story on the Donald’s food preferences: Writer Jen Deaderick recalled an incident her roommate, a pastry chef at one of Trump’s restaurants, recounted around 2003. Trump sent his fries back three or four times, saying they weren’t good enough. Eventually, the chef sent someone to the grocery store to buy Ore-Ida’s frozen French fries. Trump then deemed the fries perfect, not knowing they were frozen. The story’s not confirmed, but we wouldn’t put it past him.
