Not only does Melania take specific steps to keep her skin looking young, she’s also doing something pretty unconventional to help her son Barron’s skin look healthy. You’ll never believe what she rubs all over him every day (page 5).
1. Doing this can influence your skin
What you eat can help you get that healthy glow. While the first lady professes she doesn’t diet, she sticks to healthy eating, according to Express. “It’s not a diet, I just like to eat healthy because I feel better and have more energy,” she told Refinery29 in 2012. Melania often turns to breakfast smoothies and and drinks plenty of water, too.
She also doesn’t deprive herself. “I don’t have a particular snack I always eat,” she told Refinery29. If I would snack, I would snack on maybe fruit or a little bit of chocolate, because I think your body needs that, too.”

2. This is the first thing Melania puts on her face every morning
Melania greets the day with a fresh face thanks to this daily routine. She shared her secret with Allure Magazine in 2011. “When I wake up in the morning, I like to refresh myself and put some tonic on — one with vitamin C — and then an oxygen cream with vitamins A, C, and E. That’s very important to me so that my skin will stay moisturized throughout the day.”

3. She says this routine has kept her skin looking young and fresh
The first lady also has a skincare routine at night. “I never go to sleep before washing my makeup off and I really nurture my skin at night,” she told Allure.
She added that this skincare routine didn’t materialize overnight. “Early in my modeling career, when I was a teenager I really took care of my skin. I didn’t get too much sun exposure and I moisturized,” she said.

4. Melania almost had a skincare line
At one point, Melania was set to launch a skincare line. The line, called Caviar Complexe C6, contained actual caviar, which includes vitamins, protein, and omega 3. All these ingredients are designed to help minimize the signs of aging. However, business dealings turned sour when Melania partnered with holding company, New Sunshine. So the skincare line fell apart.

5. She actually uses this on Barron
Even though Melania’s skincare line went belly up, it didn’t stop her from using it on her son, according to Daily News. Not only did Melania slather the cream on Barron’s face, she applied it to the entire child. “I put it on him from head to toe,” she said. “He likes it!” At the time, Barron was only 7 years old, so it shows Melania is teaching Barron to take care of his skin from a young age.

6. Melania got her beauty advice from this woman
When Allure asked whether other models passed down their skincare secrets to her, Melania responded, “No, it was more from my mother. She was always taking care of herself. That was very important and I guess she instilled that in me as well. I didn’t get any advice from other models. There wasn’t time.”
Next: This is the one thing she’ll never do to her skin.
7. She said she’d never do this in 2011
While Melania strives to stay ahead of aging skin, she insisted there’s one thing she’d never do. “No. I don’t get any Botox — even though it’s been reported elsewhere that I’ve had Botox done,” she told Allure. “I’d never do anything on my face or my body. I think you age naturally — everybody’s aging. What’s the purpose? If you have Botox done and full lips and all that, if it makes you happy, fine. But it’s not for me.”

8. Melania is sticking to her story
When Vanity Fair asked Melania in 2016 whether she’s had any plastic surgery or Botox, this was her response. “I didn’t make any changes,” she said. “A lot of people say I am using all the procedures for my face. I didn’t do anything. I live a healthy life, I take care of my skin and my body. I’m against Botox, I’m against injections; I think it’s damaging your face, damaging your nerves. It’s all me. I will age gracefully, as my mom does.”
