Princess Eugenie’s Father, Prince Andrew, Will Never Be Able to Live This Horrifying Scandal Down
Move over, Meghan Markle — there’s another royal wedding about to take place. Princess Eugenie is engaged to Jack Brooksbank, a nightclub manager whom she’s been seeing for seven years, E! News reports. Her infamous mother, Sarah Ferguson, will certainly be in attendance. But so will her father, Prince Andrew, who’s no stranger to the news himself.
A few years back, Prince Andrew was caught up in an outrageous scandal none of us could believe. Here’s what went down.
1. Prince Andrew always had a strained relationship with his family
It seems Prince Andrew was always the odd one out in his family, particularly when it came to his relationship with his brother, Prince Charles. The Daily Beast reminds us Charles is 11 years older than Andrew and has taken on more duties for the royal family. And this has led to jealousy and resentment on Andrew’s part.
Not only that, but friends of the royal family maintain Andrew has always been the Queen’s favorite child, which also put a rift in the brother’s relationship. Now, it appears they barely speak.

2. His marriage to Sarah Ferguson has us all scratching our heads
Both Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew are loving and loyal to their two daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice. And though the two are divorced, they’ve kept a remarkably close relationship that still puzzles us. Hello! notes the two were married for 10 years before divorcing due to Andrew’s demanding naval career. But even after everything, Ferguson maintains Prince Andrew will “always be my handsome prince.”
Many believe the two will reunite in the future — and it seems fans of the two are pushing for a remarriage.

3. His biggest scandal started with his friendship with American financier Jeffrey Epstein
Jeffrey Epstein is known best for his rags-to-riches tale and friendships with the most famous and wealthy folks in the world. Not many know exactly how much money Epstein has, but it’s enough to fund an obscenely lavish lifestyle. The Guardian reports “he was a modern-day Great Gatsby,” as his close ties with political leaders, royals, and celebrities was well-documented.
Epstein and Andrew met in the ’90s — though that friendship would soon haunt him for the rest of his life.

4. Many young girls came forward and accused Epstein of exploitation and abuse
It was over a decade ago when Jeffrey Epstein was thrust under the spotlight for having sexual relations with multiple underage girls. The Guardian explains the investigation in 2007 revealed Epstein would utilize his assistants to “recruit” these young girls to his home to “engage in lewd conduct in exchange for money.”
Overall, around 40 girls came forward with allegations. Epstein is now a registered sex offender, though he only served 13 months in jail for his crimes.
Next: The accusations of one girl in particular were Andrew’s downfall.
5. One girl said Epstein forced her to engage in sexual activity with Prince Andrew
Many of the teenagers Epstein allegedly engaged with sued him in the end, and Virginia Roberts is one of the most notable. The Guardian explains Roberts claims she was working at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago beach club when she was recruited to be a masseuse for Epstein at just 15 years old.
For years, Roberts said she saw Epstein abuse young girls from across the globe. And she even said Epstein “required” her to be exploited by politicians and royals. Eventually, she came forward and admitted that royal she referred to was Prince Andrew.

6. Virginia Roberts even had photo proof of being with Andrew
Daily Mail Online explains according to Roberts’ story, Prince Andrew had sex with her when she was just 17 and employed as Epstein’s “sex slave.” She claims regular group sexual interactions would happen on Epstein’s private Caribbean island, private London house, and New York mansion.
There’s even a photo of her and Prince Andrew to prove the two knew each other back in 2001. In the photo, Andrew has his arm around Roberts’ exposed midriff. Seems pretty incriminating to us.
Next: Here’s how Andrew responded to the allegations.
7. Andrew and Buckingham Palace vehemently denied the claims
Daily Mail Online notes three public statements were made by the royals. They called the claims “false and without foundation,” and sources close to Prince Andrew called his friendship with Epstein “a poor choice.” Luckily for Andrew, a legal deal was made that resulted in his immunity from further prosecution. And Epstein was convicted on just one charge of paying a minor for sex.
