Ever since the news broke about former Today show host Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual misconduct, rumors about his personal life have been flying. Many stories are circulating about Lauer’s alleged mistresses, and some insiders are even saying he’s hiding a dark secret.
Here’s what we know about the ravaged family Matt Lauer may lose (page 6), the alleged love children no one knew he had, and how Hoda Kotb feels about the situation (page 12).
- Two co-workers claim Lauer is the father of their children.
There are rumors that Lauer allegedly fathered two children with two different co-workers while he was still married to his wife, Annette Roque. A source told In Touch Weekly that two women claim Lauer is the father of their children.
An NBC insider told In Touch that Lauer’s skeletons are slowly emerging from his closet. “All of Matt’s secrets are coming back to haunt him, and the most damaging is one that he’s terrified of facing: that he has children out there with other women. The thought of having to do DNA tests to prove paternity scares him to death. He stands to lose everything,” said the insider.

- Rumors suggest Lauer had an affair with NBC anchor Natalie Morales.
Lauer has been the subject of several other rumors. One rumor is that he had an affair with former NBC anchor Natalie Morales. Insiders said one of the reasons Morales left the Today show and headed to Access Hollywood is because she was having an affair with Lauer. However, they both shot down the rumors. Morales told Page Six, “There is absolutely no truth to this completely absurd story. It is damaging, hurtful, and extremely sexist.”

She said she came out with her story, so she could help validate the claims of the women who accused Lauer of sexual misconduct. “I’m not trying to get anything out of this situation, other than be another voice in this important conversation about women in the workplace,” Zinone said.

Right now, it hasn’t been confirmed whether Lauer has secret children. It seems these are just rumors.
