Meghan Markle is brilliant, talented, super stylish, and kind. And she also happens to have an amazing body. But Markle definitely works hard to stay in such killer shape, and she’s more than happy to share her workout secrets when she’s asked.
As the countdown to the next royal wedding nears, there’s no doubt that Markle will be spending some serious time at the gym. These are some of the workouts she’s into, including one she calls “the best thing you can do for your body” (page 4).

There’s no doubt that Markle will make a “bootyful” bride. She credits her solid derriere with The Skinny Bitch Collective workouts, founded by trainer Russell Bateman. The invite-only classes focus on lunges, squats, and other booty-toners.

Recently, Markle called Megaformer Pilates “the best thing you can do for your body.” For her own workouts, Markle prefers the classes at Pilates Platinum, a fitness studio in Santa Monica that is run by a celebrity fitness trainer and personal friend, Heather Dorak. Markle gives Dorak’s classes high praise, calling her “inspiring in every way” and swearing that the workouts will change your body almost instantly.

The best thing is also the hardest thing?

Make no mistake about it, the Megaformer Pilates classes are intense. A writer and reporter for People tried one and rated the level of difficulty a 9/10 — and she is in great shape herself. The workout is low-impact, but it’s high-intensity, so you can expect to sweat right away. And considering one session can burn 800 to 1,000 calories, it’s no wonder that the moves will sculpt your body fast.

Having a fitness routine is great, but motivation matters almost as much. Markle exercises for more than just a great body: Her daily motivation is a combination of health, state of mind, and that blissful post-workout feeling. Just thinking about how euphoric you feel after a good workout is sometimes enough to lace up those sneakers.

Most health experts are big advocates for rest days, and Markle takes her downtime as seriously as she does her workouts. Her favorite ways to relax include detoxing in an infrared sauna, watching mindless TV, and enjoying a glass of wine. To her, being healthy is all about balance.
Markle also uses her diet to aid in her exercise and general wellness. On the following pages, check out some of her diet tips that help boost energy and make workout routines even better.

Instead of a 2 p.m. coffee break, Markle looks to green juice as an afternoon pick-me-up. “Green juice is a food-as-medicine philosophy for me,” she told Delish. The royal bride-to-be doesn’t consider it to be as life-changing as most other Los Angeles natives would, but she recognizes its benefits and drinks it often.

As the most important meal of the day, eating a well-balanced breakfast can set you up for success — especially if you’re trying to eat healthy. And while Markle occasionally indulges in an omelette with cheese and toast, her go-to is steel cut oats, banana, and a little bit of natural agave syrup.

The key to a healthy diet is starting the day off right. So, in addition to eating a healthy breakfast of steel cut oats and banana, Markle steeps lemon slices in hot water. Not only can the natural tea provide the body with a boost of energy, but it can also kick-start the digestive system and hydrate the body, too.

Markle is no stranger to snacking. That said, she typically goes for something a little healthier than, say, a bag of potato chips. Instead of filling up on junk food, Markle satisfies her appetite (and sweet tooth) with apple slices, almond butter, and a little bit of sea salt.
