The Real Reason ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Jax Taylor Cheated on Brittany Cartwright
Fans weren’t exactly shocked to learn Vanderpump Rule’s Jax Taylor cheated on his live-in girlfriend Brittany Cartwright. Although Cartwright appears to have done everything right in their relationship, Taylor can’t seem to help himself.
If Taylor cheated on the perfect girlfriend, is there any hope for the 38-year-old SUR bartender? We reveal what may be the real reason he cheated on page 5.
1. Trouble was brewing
Taylor and Cartwright started having problems while the couple filmed a Vanderpump Rules spin off show in Kentucky. The couple seemed to constantly butt heads during filming, with Taylor having some serious talks with Cartwright’s family about his intentions.

2. Oh no he didn’t
Cheating rumors swirled around Taylor after the couple returned to Los Angeles, which proved to be true, Bravo confirms. Taylor came clean quickly, acting like he should receive a medal though for not perpetuating the lie.
“So I’ve done this in the past where I’ve denied,” he told Bravo. “It doesn’t really do anything. I didn’t want to lie about it. It was one of those things that was eating me up inside as it is. And I just wanted to own it. You know what, there’s no point in lying at my age. I didn’t think it was gonna get anywhere with it. I did this already. This was bad enough. At least I can own up to it right away.”

3. He can’t seem to help himself
The latest affair is nothing new for Taylor. When Vanderpump Rules debuted Taylor was dating Stassi Schroeder, who he cheated on with her best friend Kristen Doute, E News reports.
Taylor manages to fall into another relationship, but cheats on his next girlfriend during a lost boy’s weekend in Vegas. Next came Cartwright, but Taylor managed to wander during that relationship too.
Next: Taylor doesn’t just have cheating issues.
4. Taylor also has problems with this too
Taylor’s bad boy behavior isn’t limited to womanizing. He seems to exhibit a pattern of both lying and stealing. He’s been arrested (and did jail time) a number of times for theft, driving while under the influence, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license.
He also lied to friends and girlfriends about actions ranging from cheating to possibly even getting a new job. Schroeder accused Taylor of lying about a job offer he received in Tampa, Florida. “He’s a liar,” she said, Bravo recounts. “He won’t tell us what it’s called, the position.”

5. Could Taylor have this personality disorder?
Schroeder played armchair psychologist and diagnosed Taylor as being a sociopath during her podcast, Straight Up With Stassi. She gave him a test likely procured online, however Taylor managed to score pretty high. This left both he and Schroeder to conclude he is, indeed a sociopath.

6. Taylor checks a lot of the boxes for the disorder
A true diagnosis is a challenge without being properly evaluated by a licensed psychologist. Some sociopath personality traits include a lack of empathy, difficulty sustaining a relationship, being manipulative and deceitful, irresponsibility, callousness, and hostility, Donald W. Black, MD, professor of psychiatry told Health.
Taylor recently exploded at work, even flipping off his friends and boss Lisa Vanderpump. Another sociopath characteristic is risky behavior, which plays into the ongoing cheating, stealing, and use of risky supplements.

7. Could this possibly help Taylor?
Taylor was in therapy for years, recently trying reiki to harness his demons. And while he seemed to have a breakthrough during one session featured on the show, he stopped going, reiki master Kelsey J. Patel told Page Six.
Anyone who suspects they may have sociopath tendencies should get help. But doing this isn’t always easy. “One of the curious things about this disorder is a general lack of insight,” Dr. Black told Health. The individual recognizes they have problems, gets into trouble, and knows their spouse or partner isn’t happy with them. But they usually blame others or circumstances for their issues.
