These Revealing Clues Make Us Think Meghan Markle Will Be Pregnant in No Time

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hinted at having kids several times. Their actions also speak some loud words about their eagerness to start a family. Here are all the subtle — and not so subtle — signs that make us think this royal couple will have a baby of their own in no time.

Harry has always had a nasty smoking habit, but recently, reports surfaced that he finally quit. An insider told the New York Daily News that Harry quit smoking because it affects sperm production, and the couple want to start a family immediately. Harry wants to be in the best possible shape so Meghan can get pregnant. He also reportedly lost 10 pounds and cut back on his alcohol intake at his fiancé’s request.

Next: Meghan’s age could be a form of pressure.

Meghan and Harry are still young, but time is ticking. Most doctors recommend that women have children before the age of 35 in order to decrease the risk of miscarriage, Down syndrome, or other complications during pregnancy. But today, many women are having babies well into their 30s and 40s. Plus, new studies suggest that down syndrome does not affect nearly as many 35+ babies as was once thought. But still, Meghan is probably eager to start a healthy family.

Next: There also may be expectations based on Will and Kate’s choices.

If you’ve got baby fever, it’s probably hard watching your brother have children while you have none of your own. For Harry, watching William and Kate start their seemingly perfect family must only make him want kids even more. Plus, William and Kate will probably stop after three, but they’ll still be an adorable family of five. Harry probably can hardly wait any longer to experience parenthood rather than always being the fun uncle.

Next: The couple tends to move quickly.

The couple did not have a long engagement

Harry proposed in November 2017 and the couple set the wedding date for May 2018. The six-month engagement shows the two are in a rush to start their lives together — probably because they’re already thinking about children. The average engagement in the UK is 20 months, so it’s clear that Meghan and Harry are wasting no time.

Harry said he wants a family ‘in the near future’

When Harry and Meghan did an interview together just after their engagement, Harry said he wanted a family in the near future. Since that was quite a few months ago, we can only assume that “near future” actually means right after the wedding. Plus, he’s been working so hard to get in shape for fatherhood, and if the smoking habit really has been cut, we can only assume a family is right around the corner.

Next: Meghan has also brought up the topic of children.

Markle has said she wants kids in the past

US actress Meghan Markle visits Nottingham for her first official public engagement with fiancee Prince Harry on December 1, 2017 in Nottingham, England. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement on Monday 27th November 2017 and will marry at St George's Chapel, Windsor in May 2018.

During a 2016 interview, Markle was asked about some of her bucket list items. She discussed her plans to grow her lifestyle blog and continue acting. But she also said she wants to eventually have kids. Now that she’ll be a part of the royal family, she’s taken a break from the acting and has since closed up her lifestyle blog. It looks like having kids is the only item left on the table, so we’re sure she’ll want to complete that.

Harry and Meghan haven’t been shy about their want for a family of their own. But they also haven’t said exactly how many children they want to have. It’s possible they’ll follow in William and Kate’s footsteps and have three. But perhaps it also depends on how smoothly Meghan’s first pregnancy goes — hopefully she doesn’t from the same horrific morning sickness as Kate.
