Scott and Phan have been together since 2010 and had ‘the longest first date ever’
The happy couple met in 2010 during a Toronto Fashion Week event. “I saw her and thought, ‘Oh, she’s attractive!’” Scott told People. He also complimented her great personality. The couple got sushi on their first date and hot chocolate after. And later, Scott actually invited himself to a karaoke party Phan was attending after the date. They got married in May 2018 in an outdoor ceremony in Italy
The couple wed at an overseas venue in Italy. The ceremony was outside, and Scott and Phan were thrilled to have finally tied the knot. “We are still floating on clouds. … Today couldn’t have been more magical,” Scott told People. Phan wore a ceremony dress and a separate reception dress both designed by Claire Pettibone. And Scott and his groomsmen wore kilts during the ceremony but changed into tuxes for the reception.

The wedding festivities lasted 3 days
Because guests were flying all the way to Italy for the event, there were plenty of things for them to do in the days leading up to the wedding. There were bachelor and bachelorette excursions that included a bicycle tour and cooking classes. The couple also held a welcome party for the guests. It was Apulian-style (Apulia is a region in Italy) and featured artisan booths, such as cheese and pasta making.

Scott had 2 best men while Phan opted not to have a maid of honor
Scott made his two brothers, Jonathan and J.D., his best men instead of choosing one. On the other hand, Phan decided not to have a maid of honor, according to People. She did not explain why, but Phan has three sisters and maybe did not want to choose only one of them. Instead, she simply had 10 bridesmaids.

Their wedding gifts had a charitable twist

Their honeymoon also focuses on a charity
In the past, the couple have said they want their honeymoon to have a charitable focus. “As a part of our honeymoon, we want to … bring some awareness to some of the initiatives that we’re passionate about,” Scott told Us Weekly in November 2017. And it looks like they stayed true to their word. “We’re going to Ecuador with WE,” Scott said of his honeymoon, according to People. “We went to Kenya with them last year on a trip and we want to do the same thing in Ecuador.”
