This Is How Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Are Finally Moving on After 9 Years of Marriage

After being married for almost a decade — and doing all they could to save their relationship — Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced their seemingly sudden split.

They’ve decided to trade marriage for a more dedicated focus on their respective careers, as well as maintain the one thing that will help them remain close (page 7). Here’s how life after divorce looked for the two Hollywood actors.

They decided their careers are more important than their marriage

Tatum and Dewan clarified that their separation didn’t have anything to do with falling out of love. Instead, sources claim it was “due to spending more time apart because of the pressure of work.” Both apparently agreed they’d be better off without the stress of trying to maintain their marriage.

Next: If fans didn’t see the initial announcement, they definitely noticed this major change.

Dropping Tatum’s name from her online profiles without warning her fans first probably wouldn’t have gone down well. Following their official separation announcement, though, Dewan changed her name on Twitter and Instagram, from Jenna Dewan Tatum to just Jenna Dewan.

Next: The two haven’t completely ended their relationship, though.

… but they’re still following each other

The former couple said their friendship would remain intact, even if their marriage dissolved. While some celebrity breakups might result in both parties unfollowing each other on social media, Tatum liked one of her photos shortly after they announced their separation.

Next: Both were spotted in public without these.

The separation seemed even more official when Tatum and Dewan were first spotted without their wedding rings, on separate occasions. Tatum arrived at a London airport without his, and Dewan was seen in Los Angeles without hers.

Next: Their new “normal” might not be much different after all.

Though it seems both took some time to deal with the matter privately, Dewan reminded us all that life goes on despite big personal changes. She was seen attending her workout classes and returning to work on upcoming projects not long after the announcement.

Next: They’re learning to depend on other people for support.

She’s also been spending quality time with her family

Dewan has family in Santa Barbara. Though sources claimed she was “relieved” to have announced she and Tatum were no longer romantically involved, she reportedly spent time away with them shortly following the divorce.

Next: There’s one thing that definitely won’t change between them.

They’ve agreed to focus on raising their daughter together

Just because their marriage didn’t work out doesn’t mean co-parenthood can’t. They said in their joint announcement on social media, “We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.” To them, it’s a commitment worth staying friends for.
