This Is What We’d Imagine a Double Date With Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner Would Really Be Like

They’re one of the wealthiest and most influential couples and important advisers to President Donald Trump. However, even power couples have to take a break — and make some time for themselves.

We rounded up the details of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s favorite pastimes and speculated how a double date with the couple would go. Plus, check out the couple’s conversation from their first date (page 7).

1. We’d eat at an Italian restaurant

Ivanka told InStyle her favorite Brooklyn “under-the-radar” restaurants (which, admittedly, are pretty well known now) are Frankie Sputino’s and Lucali’s. The renowned spots have one thing in common: They both serve date-worthy Italian fare.

Ivanka and Jared now frequent the best Italian restaurants since they moved to Washington, D.C. We’re guessing Ivanka and Jared would split chicken and pasta — with a Diet Coke to drink, of course.

2. Jared would step out to make 3 phone calls

It’s no secret the couple is incredibly busy. While Jared made clear he doesn’t talk to the press after the 2016 election, he still needs to talk to his close confidants to deal with professional and political matters.

While Ivanka seems like she’d be the attentive hostess, we wouldn’t be surprised if Jared had to excuse himself — once, twice, maybe three times — to take care of business while the rest of us dig into pasta and pizza.

3. We would head to a new development site

Ivanka revealed her husband’s knack for detouring on date night. “My husband’s idea of date night somehow always involves me looking at one of his development sites,” she told Vogue. “So we went to this great restaurant in Brooklyn on Saturday, and all of a sudden I find myself standing on the roof of the Whole Foods … at midnight. And he’s showing me this giant site he just bought. I’m like, ‘Huh. So this is why you chose that restaurant.'”

While Kushner isn’t doing much developing in Washington, D.C., the couple could show pictures from their recent trip to the controversial new U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.

4. We’d stroll through Central Park

They’re both born-and-bred New Yorkers, so it’d make sense to explore the city the two grew up in through their eyes. Ivanka thinks the one must-do for a first time visitor to the Big Apple is a walk through Central Park to the Met. “It’s the best way to get a feel for what makes New York so special,” she told InStyle.

Ivanka says the couple is big on “spontaneity,” as well. So rather than set plans in stone, there’s a chance the two plan their dates on the fly.

Next: We know who would do all the planning.

5. Ivanka would call the shots

“I would say she is definitely the CEO of our household, whereas I’m more on the board of directors,” Jared said of his wife. We’ll take that as indication Ivanka would be planning the evening out. It comes as no surprise that Ivanka — who owns a clothing line and lifestyle brand and has three kids — is an expert planner.

6. We’d dine in style

Despite the fact she’s relinquished pursuing her clothing line, the former model has brought her own unique style to the White House and the events she attends. She goes all out for the events she attends — take the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang as an example.

Needless to say, a double date with Ivanka and Jared would call for some style consultation, perhaps from Ivanka’s French state dinner designer, Rodarte.

They call their first date “the best deal we ever made,” especially considering the mutual friend who set them up thought they’d only be talking business.

A commercial real estate broker and friend of Ivanka’s father set up the pair, then 25, on a lunch date to discuss their mutual passions for real estate. “They very innocently set us up thinking that our only interest in one another would be transactional,” Ivanka told Vogue in 2015.
