This Popular Actor Has Been Pro-Gun Since Kindergarten
Gun violence has become an even more serious topic in recent years in the wake of horrific mass shootings. While many celebrities have spoken out for tighter gun control, some celebrities take a pro-gun stance.
You’ll be surprised by how many celebrities have openly spoken about being pro-gun — and you’ll also be surprised by who some of these celebrities are, including one whose been pro-gun since kindergarten (check out page 10).
Actress Eva Longoria, known for her roles in various soap operas, is a big supporter of the Second Amendment and has been a gun enthusiast since she was young. “I grew up on a ranch with my father, so he educated us early on about guns. We used to go Target shooting all the time,” she said in an interview.

Robert De Niro
De Niro said in an interview, “You can’t infringe upon their rights,” referring to those who legally carry guns and support the Second Amendment. However, De Niro did say that gun control might not be a terrible thing. He said that although you can’t take away someone’s right to bear arms, there should be “some” regulation of guns.

Country music star Miranda Lambert has never been shy about her support of guns. She frequently writes about guns in her songs — she even has a hit called “Gun Powder and Lead.” In 2016, Lambert arrived at the Academy of Country Music Awards wearing bright pink stilettos equipped with a miniature gun in a holster.

Actress Amber Heard grew up around guns and still loves them. “… I sleep with my gun in a place that’s close enough that if I needed to protect myself, I could,” she said in an interview. Heard said she grew up around her father’s guns and considers her .357 magnum her “baby.” However, she did note that in the wake of the high number U.S. homicides, gun reform is necessary.

Johnny Depp, who was once in a very volatile marriage with Amber Heard, has also spoken up in the past about being pro-gun. He said he enjoyed shooting as a kid and wants to teach his children to shoot. “We would just go out and line up a bunch of cans and shoot with rifles, handguns, and at times submachine guns,” he said.

Clint Eastwood has admitted that he enjoys shooting (target shooting, he says, and not anything else). He told a story of a woman having a gun and not being afraid of anything, and he said that story “sums up my gun control.” Eastwood has starred in quite a few gun-heavy movies during his acting career.

Country music singer Brantley Gilbert has made his pro-gun stance a large part of his career. His entire back is covered in a massive, pro-gun tattoo that features two guns with the words of the Second Amendment beneath them. He has sung songs about guns as well as given monologues about the importance of gun ownership in ensuring the safety of his family.

Celebrity chef Alton Brown has made his pro-gun stance clear. He’s tweeted about guns before, noting that he doesn’t use them every day, but most days. He’s also posted photographs of him holding automatic weapons. He once said that his love for guns stems from his love for James Bond films. “I have lived my whole life on Bond films,” he said.

Millionaire poker player and social media star Dan Bilzerian was on stage when bullets rang out at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. Bilzerian, who has been a decorated gun owner for years, said all he kept thinking was how badly he wished he’d had one of his guns so he could shoot back at the killer. “…You do what your instinct is. Mine was to get a gun,” he said.

Brad Pitt has been pro-gun since kindergarten
Brad Pitt claims he’s been pro-gun since his kindergarten days. “I got my grandfather’s shot gun when I was in kindergarten,” Pitt said in an interview. “There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons.” Pitt was born in Oklahoma and raised in Missouri. Pitt also said that his father instilled in him a deep respect for guns. Pitt, when he was married to Angelina Jolie, said he wouldn’t feel safe in his home with his family if there wasn’t a gun nearby.

In New York City, getting authorized for a conceal-carry permit is not very easy. However, Marc Anthony has done it. According to the New York Daily News, Anthony is one of only dozens of high-profile stars permitted to carry a gun around the city. Anthony has said he’s pro guns, but has not said whether he’s pro semi-automatic or automatic weapons.

It comes as no surprise that Angelina Jolie would be pro-gun, considering she was romantically involved with (and at one point married to) Brad Pitt for more than a decade. The actress said in a 2008 interview with Daily Mail, “…If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I’ve no problem shooting them,” she seconded Brad Pitt’s comments that the family does have guns in their home.

Actor Christian Slater, known for his role in movies such as I, Robot, has spoken out about being pro-gun in the past. He was once quoted as saying, “It’s better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it.” Slater has not commented on the use of semi-automatic or automatic weapons.

Bruce Willis, an actor who has always leaned a bit conservatively, has not shied away from his pro-gun point of view. In an interview in the early 2000s, Willis said, “Everyone has a right to bear arms. If you take guns away from legal gun owners, then the only people who have guns are the bad guys.” Willis also said he thinks that even pacifists would get violent if someone was trying to kill them.

Aerosmith band member Joe Perry has been collecting guns for years. “I have always been fascinated with guns,” he said. “I grew up in America, so granted, it is part of our heritage, and it is written into the laws of how this country is run.” Perry has referred to himself as an “old-school Republican” in the past. He said it is “ridiculous” that you can have a gun on you in one state but not another.
