You’ll Be Surprised By What Kate Middleton Actually Does Every Day

Kate Middleton doesn’t always follow royal rules. She’s one of the least traditional royal wives, having had a completely normal life before marrying Prince William. Yet she’s made good use of her time as a member of the family. How does she do it all? Also — what does she actually do, exactly?

How does the Duchess of Cambridge spend her busy days? Splitting time between kids, a husband, and life in the royal spotlight can’t be easy. Somehow, she makes it work anyway.

As William’s wife, she’s an active member of the royal family, though her title doesn’t do much to explain those responsibilities. Aside from attending events with and on behalf of the queen, she’s also a mom, dog owner, philanthropist, and lover of all things yoga.

Life as a duchess might not be as glamorous as you’d imagine, but she’s good at it nonetheless.

To stay healthy while she was pregnant, Kate Middleton stays fit while enjoying the occasional dietary indulgence (you have more in common with her than you thought!). She mainly focuses on yoga and taking the family’s dog Lupo for walks. Even the royal pets need their daily doses of exercise.

It’s not easy raising royal kids. But Kate and William are working parents like many others, even if they just happen to be royal ones. There is a nanny on staff to look after the young royals while William and Kate are both away, but they do their best to be active in raising and caring for their kids.

Keeping up with charities

Philanthropy is one of Kate’s many responsibilities as a royal family member. She supports and represents a number of organizations, and regularly meets with executives and reads charity reports.

She focuses most of her efforts on charities like Action on Addiction, The Art Room, and the Scout Association. These organizations help members of different communities throughout the UK, both children and adults.

Attending the big events

As a prominent member of the royal family, she’s also expected to make appearances both alongside William and on her own. Showing up at various banquets and receptions throughout the year is part of the job description.

Kate Middleton also sometimes makes unexpected day trips, like when she visited victims of the London terrorist attacks unannounced.

Next: She’s probably too busy to do her own shopping, right? Wrong.

Shopping for groceries

Like any ordinary wife and mom, Kate regularly visits the supermarket to purchase groceries for her family. She eats a lot of bread, so there’s always a loaf in her cart. Her family eats mostly organic food, so she’s sure to pick up plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables as well.

Next: One of the most important people in her life gets some of her time, too.

Spending time with her husband
