This Is What Meghan Markle’s Perfect Day Really Looks Like
Meghan Markle has joined the ranks of British royals and enjoyed one of the most publicized and elaborate weddings in recent history. And she’s deeply in love. Needless to say, she has a pretty charmed life.
While our dream day would likely just be a day in the life of Meghan Markle, even she has her own idea of what a “perfect day” entails.
1. She’d go for a run or walk with her dogs
Markle has two dogs: Guy, a Labrador-shepherd, and Bogart, a beagle. Guy made the trip across the pond to live with Markle and Prince Harry while Bogart remained in Toronto with her close friends. Markle described the rescue pups as her “boys” and says they “mean the absolute world to her.” And it’s no secret she’s good with animals. She even charmed the queen’s corgis, something Harry admitted he hasn’t done in his 33 years.
“On my perfect day, I would wake up late, take my dogs for a walk,” Markle told Best Health Canada in 2015. While that was years ago, during her days of TV show Suits and lifestyle blog The Tig, we expect she still feels the same way about her favorite furry friends.

2. She’d take a yoga class
Markle is a self-dubbed health nut, and her workouts pay off. She has an incredibly healthy, fit physique to prove it. She named vinyasa and hot yoga as her favorite practices and attributes her strong arms to the toning exercise.
“[The] practice is in my blood,” she told Women’s Health UK. “I love an intense vinyasa class — and even better if it’s blasting hip-hop and done in a dark room with candlelight. The best!”

3. Her meals would consist of sashimi, french fries, pasta, and wine
Markle called a sashimi lunch her idea of a perfect day’s meal. But it turns out she has a few guilty pleasures to add to the list, as well. “I could eat French fries all day. And I love pasta. I love carbs,” she told Best Health Canada.
Markle is all about enjoying her favorite foods within reason. She tries to eat vegan on weekdays and indulge on the weekends. “Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived. … It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating,” she said. She also loves a daily glass of wine, so we’ll add that to her perfect day’s meal.

4. She’d shoot just 1 scene — or perhaps do some philanthropic work
Markle claimed she would go shoot just one scene back when she was asked about her perfect day. “And, because I love to work … that would be fantastic for a little creative impulse,” she told Best Health Canada. However, Markle announced she was leaving her acting career for the time being to focus on causes she holds dear.
“It was always her intention to focus on her humanitarian work, but I think her relationship with Harry has accelerated things moving in that direction,” a source close to the former actress told Vanity Fair. Markle is a World Vision ambassador and UN Women advocate. And she reportedly is interested in setting up her own foundation for young, vulnerable female populations worldwide.

5. She’d cook dinner for her friends
“I love to cook. I grew up on the set of a TV show … my dad would have me help in craft services — that’s where I started to learn about garnishing and plating. After being there every day after school for 1- years and seeing the appreciation of food, I started to learn the association between food and happiness and being able to entertain,” Markle told Best Health Canada.
For dinner, she claimed she’d round out her perfect day with “a really great dinner with friends” that she prepared herself. We expect that was part of what made Harry’s proposal so perfect — the prince got down on one knee as the two roasted a chicken for dinner in their Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
Next: She’s always looking to the future.
6. She’d plan her next vacation
Markle’s now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, was dedicated to all things food, fashion, and travel. Markle grew up with a travel agent for a mother, which sparked her love of exploring different cultures. She grew up in Los Angeles but admitted to traveling a lot as a child.
She and Prince Harry have declared Botswana their favorite camping spot (or, should we say, glamping spot — the two hardly rough it). There they enjoy some much-needed privacy at the luxurious Meno A Kwena, where they stargaze and watch elephants.

7. She’d spend some quality time with her favorite prince
Markle is a huge proponent of relaxing. “I travel so much that, in my downtime, I really relish the quiet,” she told Best Health Canada. She has always been big on work-life balance and will likely carry this into her relationship.
Prince Harry must agree. The two kept their relationship under wraps for quite some time.
“I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story,” Markle told Women’s Health back in September 2017.
