We often hear about how middle earners can barely afford some of the basics like housing, vehicles, retirement, and emergency savings. And, while it’s true that those who are not rich face more financial challenges than they should have to, we (average Americans) also have a lot going for us as well.

During the holiday season, it’s important to remember all of the things that we do have, and even make light of some of the trivial “problems” that we face on a day-to-day basis.

You know how, some days, things just don’t go your way. It’s just an all-around bad day and you feel like you just can’t catch a break. Many of these “problems” that make you have a “bad day” are first world problems. Urban Dictionary defines such problems as “problems from living in a wealthy, industrialized nation that third worlders would probably roll their eyes at.”

We scoured Twitter and Facebook (and made up a few of our own) to create a list of first world problems that average Americans face pretty regularly. Some of these complaints are completely ridiculous, but when little things like these continue to happen one after another, they start to feel like big things. And, even when some of these issues seem like a big deal at the time, they’re generally forgotten about within a short time period. Check out 99 of these first world problems on the following page.
