While many people will likely visit places like Chipotle and Qdoba to get their guacamole fix, others will be smarter and whip up their own green goodness at home. Guacamole can be easily prepared by combining avocados, onions, garlic, salt and pepper, and lime juice, but in addition — unbeknownst to many — there are also a number of spins on the original recipe you can take. Here are 6 guacamole recipes that you should definitely dip into today — whether a chip, pita, or burrito is your guacamole vehicle of choice.

1. Classic Guacamole

The first recipe we’re highlighting today comes from All Recipes and it’s for the classic guacamole we all know and love. Avocados, onions, tomatoes, and lime juice — it doesn’t get much simpler than this, and it also doesn’t get much tastier. Guacamole is dangerously easy to prepare and this dip will be ready in a cinch. Just make sure your avocados are ripe and you’re good to go.

Ingredients:

  • 2 avocados
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Peel and mash avocados in a medium serving bowl. Stir in onion, garlic, tomato, lime juice, salt and pepper. Season with remaining lime juice and salt and pepper to taste. Chill for half an hour to blend flavors.

2. Guacamole With Sour Cream

If you’ve ever had classic guacamole and thought it never could possibly get better, then you’ve never had guacamole with sour cream. This avocado dip just got a little more sinful. Everyone knows sour cream pairs perfectly with Mexican food, and that reality is proven once again with this Guacamole With Sour Cream recipe from Jamie Deen. With a mother like Paula, we shouldn’t even be surprised that Jamie knows how to perfect the decadent dish.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • Juice of 3 limes
  • ¼ cup chopped white onion
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 plum tomatoes, chopped
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Directions: Pit and peel the avocados. Place the avocados in a bowl and mash with the lime juice, onions, sour cream, and a big pinch of salt and pepper. Fold in the tomatoes and serve with tortilla chips.

3. Spicy Guacamole

If you want your guacamole to have a kick, try this recipe from Natasha’s KitchenSavor this spin on the traditional dish that has quite a bite. The usual guacamole suspects are all still there in this recipe, but so too are jalapeño peppers. We hope you like your healthy fats hot.

Ingredients:

  • 3 avocados
  • 2 firm medium tomatoes, seeded
  • 1 small/medium onion, finely chopped
  • ½ bunch of cilantro
  • 2 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon cumin

Directions: Cut avocados in half, remove the seeds and scrape them out into a flat bottomed bowl. Smash with a potato masher or a fork. Chop onion and add it to the bowl. Remove seeds from jalapeño and finely dice them. Cut the tomato in half parallel with the top and remove seeds. Dice your tomatoes and add them to your bowl. Press garlic and chop your cilantro than add them to the bowl. Add ½ teaspoon dry cumin powder, ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, and 3 tablespoons of lime juice. Serve right away.

4. Cilantro Lime Guacamole

Heading down another flavor route, we come to this other spin on traditional guacamole: Cilantro Lime Guacamole from Fine Cooking. If you have the gene that allows you to enjoy cilantro, make sure you go heavy-handed on the herb and lime next time you’re in the mood to whip up a bowl of guacamole. This recipe only requires 7 ingredients and (usually) serves between 4 and 6.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium-size ripe avocados
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt; more to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • Pinch ground cumin
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh jalapeño

Directions: Halve the avocados, pit them, and scoop the flesh with a large spoon into a small mixing bowl. Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons lime juice over the avocados, add the salt, coriander, and cumin, and use a wooden spoon to break up the avocados, stirring until they’re coarsely mashed. Stir in 3 tablespoons of the cilantro and the jalapeño. Taste and add more lime juice, cilantro, and salt as needed. Transfer to a small serving bowl and serve with tortilla chips.

5. Bacon and Tomato Guacamole

You didn’t think things could get much better, right? Wrong. Enter: Bacon and Tomato Guacamole. Read this recipe from Chow and weep, because it’s just that good. Right now, bacon is all the rage, and the savory treat is even getting thrown in our favorite dip: guacamole. The saltiness of bacon and sweetness of tomato pair perfectly with avocado in this recipe that only requires 8 ingredients, and the recipe developer behind this food formula even promises that this guacamole on breakfast nachos is the “ultimate hangover cure.” Don’t believe him? Grab a beer and see for yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 1¼ pounds ripe avocados (about 3 medium), halved and pitted
  • ½ medium white onion, small dice
  • 5 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 medium tomato, cored and small dice
  • ¼ cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro, plus more for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 2 medium limes), plus more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon minced chipotles in adobo sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more as needed

Directions: Scoop the flesh from the avocados into a large bowl. Mash with the back of a large fork or a potato masher to make a chunky paste. Place the onion in a small strainer and rinse under cold water. Shake off the excess water and transfer to the bowl with the avocados. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Taste and season with additional lime juice and salt as needed. Garnish with the extra cilantro and serve immediately, or place a sheet of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guacamole, refrigerate for up to 2 hours, then garnish with the cilantro and serve.

6. Blue Cheese Guacamole

Ingredients:

  • 2 large avocados, cut into small pieces
  • 1 lime, juice
  • ¼ cup blue cheese at room temperature, crumbled
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely diced
  • 1 roma/plum tomato, seeded and diced
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon cumin (toasted and ground)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Mash everything to the desired consistency.
