7 Gluten-Free Recipes Perfect for Friends and Family

Going gluten-free shouldn’t force you to go off the grid when it comes to food. It is a massive lifestyle change but also an opportunity to try new things. Making gluten-free dishes shouldn’t be the forced alternative: the dish people have to make because they or someone they know has a food allergy. Instead, it should be so good that everyone wants to take a bite.

Like any good recipe, it needs to stand out for what it has, not what it doesn’t. Thankfully, as the awareness and incidence of gluten allergies has risen, so, too, has an online community offering support and recipes so people can begin to alter their habits to improve their health. 1. For a portable breakfast or afternoon snack, have a slice of paleo banana bread from Elana’s Pantry. If you have an excessive amount of almonds on hand, you can make your own almond flour following by following Pastry Pal‘s directions.

2. Polenta has humble origins, Delallo explains. It was once considered peasant food and is often described as “Italian grits” when trying to explain the dish to the unfamiliar. It is made with cornmeal, and depending on what other ingredients are added, can be used for any meal of the day.
