Before you watch the premiere, you can catch a glimpse into the style of the final season of Mad Men. The season 7 character portraits are teeming with brightly colored, patterned fashions. Everyone is falling in step with the contemporary prints and patterns — even Betty! Judging by the character pictures, if you want to wear your love of Mad Men on your sleeve, you’ll need to banish monotony and monochrome. The styles are all about bright colors and patterns. To get you appropriately attired ahead of the season premiere, check out these fashions, styled straight from the AMC photos.

Megan, Betty, and Sally will probably all appear in a fair number of short shifts this season, and Ali Ro has an extensive array of options that fit right in with the styles seen so far. Donna Morgan has a fair number of shifts too, and this color block dress combines the best of both worlds: Peggy’s color blocking with the shifts seen on the other leading ladies.

Also slightly different than Megan and Sally is Betty’s print. To take on Betty’s striped shift, wear this blue pattered dress from JB by Julie Brown.

Florals will be prominently on display as well, but these aren’t the crisp flowers seen in modern collections. On Megan’s dress, they are large, and part of the whole pattern. With Sally, it is clear stamp of the times. The Topshop Yukka Yukka dress is an updated Sally, with a print underlaying floral designs.

Both Peggy and Sally are seen in popular shades of green, close to one that has been coloring some of Lilly Pulitzer’s latest creations. The Pulitzer prints have a late 1960s and early 1970s feel too, with plenty of options for shift dresses and mini hemlines.
