Navistar International Corp. (NYSE:NAV): Closing price $34.81

After a decided rough patch, a number of analysts say that the Illinois-based truck maker is poised for a big comeback. Navistar’s recent history includes a pending class action lawsuit, failure to comply with more robust emission regulations, supposedly misleading company statements subsequent to a management shakeup, and a blow to the trucking industry. Analyst Brian Sponheimer at Gabelli & Co. remarked that “When all is said and done, in nine months you’ll be looking at a company that’s different from now. It’ll be a different company from a year ago.”

Honda Motor Co. (NYSE:HMC): Closing price $40.24

Honda has plans to construct a $470-million factory in Celaya, Mexico, at which to assemble continuously variable transmissions. The factory will operate along with a plant under construction, scheduled to build the next-generation Fit hatchback and a Fit-based crossover. On friday, Honda said that the transmission plant will open in the second half of 2015, with an initial capacity of 350,000 units, swelling to almost 700,000 within a few years. When peak capacity is attained, the plant will employ roughly 1,500 workers. The Fit assembly plant should open in spring 2014 with a planned capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

Staples (NASDAQ:SPLS): Closing price $13.52

The world’s biggest office products company and second largest e-commerce firm, on Friday became the first major American retailer to announce the availability of 3D printers. The Cube 3D Printer from 3D Systems is immediately available on Staples.com for $1299.99, and will appear in a limited number of Staples stores by the end of June.
