3M’s subsidiary 3M Touch has announced the availability of its most recent high-performance multi-touch display, created specifically for multi-user collaborative applications. The 46-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display C4667PW can track as many as 60 simultaneous touches, and the commercial-grade chassis display is said to be ideal for applications that need two or more users to work independently or as a group in interactive table or wall-mounted configurations.

On Thursday, the staff at Verizon Communications were advised that under United States law the company can be forced to secretly share data with federal authorities. An internal email to staff followed the publication on Wednesday of a secret court order mandating that Verzion surrender call records of millions of Verizon Communications customers to the National Security Agency. In the internal email obtained by Reuters, the carrier’s General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Public Policy Randy Milch notified the company’s staff that “the law authorizes the federal courts to order a company to provide information in certain circumstances, and if Verizon were to receive such an order, we would be required to comply.”
