Ford Chief Executive Alan Mulally vented his frustration on Tuesday in regards to Japan’s devaluation of the yen and restated his opposition to Tokyo entering into free trade negotiations with the United States under an Asia-Pacific agreement. Thus far in 2013, the yen has depreciated by 8 percent against the dollar, forced down by Tokyo’s fiscal and monetary policies. Mulally commented to reporters in Bangkok that ”the markets should determine the exchange rate,” referring to what he said was “the devaluing of the yen”.

Tempur-Pedic International (NYSE: TPX): Closing price $46.81

The bedding provider has suipplied an update on the retirement of various debt financings of Sealy Corporation resulting from the completion of its purchase of Sealy on March 18. Sealy’s $235 million aggregate principal amount of 10.875 percent Senior Secured Notes due 2016 have been called for redemption and will be redeemed in full on April 15.  Sealy’s $268,945,000 aggregate principal amount of 8.25 percent Senior Subordinated Notes due 2014 have been called for redemption and will be redeemed in full on April 22.

SUPERVALU (NYSE:SVU): Closing price $5.12

On Tuesday, the company announced its intentions to slash its national workforce by some 1,100 positions. The last working dates for impacted employees vary, based on the requirements of the business and the areas they support. The cuts include both current positions and open positions that will not be filled. President and Chief Executive Sam Duncan remarked that “the decision to reduce our workforce, although difficult because of the impacts to our people, is the necessary next step in the rebuilding of our business.”

Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD): Closing price $98.69

This month, the brewing super-major is debuting a strawberry version of its Bud Light Lime-Lime-A-Rita flavored malt beverage in the United States, with an alcohol content of 8 percent (6 percent in Maine, Tennessee and New Hampshire). Pricing details are not yet available. The new Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita is aimed at the same non-beer drinkers as Lime-A-Rita, which was debuted in 2012, according to A-B InBev on monday. The new brand will become available in three pack sizes: 12-pack, 8oz cans; four-pack 16oz cans, and 24oz cans.
