Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE:TM): Closing price $125.19

Toyota  is discounting its all-electric RAV4 via low-cost lease and loan offers through which to enhance demand for the slow-selling compact crossover which is powered by a Tesla Motors battery pack and motor. This month, Toyota is promoting the option of a $299-per-month, three-year lease for the $49,800 light truck, or a 60-month, no-interest loan, according to company spokeswoman Carly Schaffner. The offers run through September 3, and are available solely in the Los Angeles and San Francisco regions.

Life Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: LIFE): Closing price $74.49

On Monday, Life Technologies announced the expansion of its food safety portfolio by a collaboration with PIKA Weihenstephan, to provide molecular testing solutions for the detection of spoilage organisms in the brewing and beverage market. The former is now the only supplier to provide both enrichment media and PCR kits created to complement the changing requirements and challenges in beverage quality and safety.

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE:DSX): Closing price $11.61

The global shipping firm that specializes in the ownership and operation of dry bulk vessels, announced Monday that it, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, took delivery of the m/v Artemis, a 2006-built Panamax dry bulk carrier of 76,942 dwt that Diana Shipping agreed to purchase in May 2013. As previously announced, the m/v Artemis is time-chartered to Rio Tinto Shipping Pty Ltd., of Melbourne, at a gross charter rate of $9,375 per day, minus a 3.75-percent commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twenty-two months to maximum twenty-six months. The charter commenced Monday.
