Goldman Sachs and NorthStar Realty Finance (NYSE:NRF) will purchase 25 real estate private equity funds from the New Jersey State Pension Fund at a price of $925 million for the assets, which is equal to their net asset value as of Sept. 30, 2012. The funds own an array of positions of real estate debt and equity mostly in the United States, said Director Timothy Walsh of the New Jersey state treasury’s division of investment. In a filing on Wednesday that reported the sale, NorthStar did not divulge details regarding the funds, while Walsh says that the state of New Jersey will not do so in advance of its next board meeting set for July 11.

Credit Suisse Group (NYSE:CS): Current Price $28.75

The number-two Swiss bank is offering a couple of exchange-traded notes linked with commodities for trading. The Credit Suisse Commodity Rotation ETN is connected with a commodities benchmark in which prompt contracts are more expensive than later deliveries, which is a phenomenon called backwardation, said a prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The securities trade under the symbol CSCR, and carry an annual fee of 0.85 percent. Additionally, Credit Suisse began trading the Credit Suisse Commodity Benchmark ETN, which is linked to an index of 34 commodities having delivery periods as long as three months, according to another prospectus filed with the SEC; these securities trade under the ticker CSCB with an annual fee of 0.65 percent.

MasterCard Incorporated (NYSE:MA): Current price $571.50

The global payment processing firm MasterCard Worldwide has made a partnership deal with Kount, through which to receive more orders and boost revenues. Kount is a fraud prevention and management tech provider that aids firms in fraud reduction. The new partnership intends to permit merchants to resiste-commerce fraud and thus cut the resulting losses. Through the terms, MasterCard will let Kount and its merchant clients access its Expert Monitoring Fraud Scoring for Merchants, which Application Programming Interface is a tool for the detection and prevention of fraudulent purchases made online.

Newcastle Investment (NYSE: NCT): Current price $5.19

Newcastle has priced a new, 35-million-share issue of its common stock at an aggregate amount of $174 million, which works out to $4.97 per share, said the company on Wednesday. Beyond that, the firm’s underwriters have been allowed a 30-day purchase option for as many as  5.25 million shares to cover any over-allotments. Newcastle will use the proceeds for “general corporate purposes,” which includes investments in assets like housing properties and real estate securities.
