KKR will acquire an interest in Weststar Aviation Services Sdn. at a price of $200 million, representing the firm’s first investment in Malaysia. The purchase will give the buyer a “substantial minority” stake in Weststar, which supplies offshore helicopter transportation services to oil and gas firms, said a joint statement by the parties, which also explained that KKR’s investment is being funded out of its $6-billion KKR Asian Fund II.

The Italian carrier wants a minimum of $12 billion for its controlling interest in the Brazilian wireless carrier Tim Participacoes SA, according to an inside source. A disposal of Telecom Italia’s 67-percent stake at that price would value Tim at roughly $18 billion, marking a 50-percent premium to the company’s market value based on Tuesday’s closing price.

On Wednesday, CACI said that it will buy Six3 Systems, Inc., which provides highly specialized support to the national security community in the areas of cyber and signals intelligence; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; and intelligence operations, from the private equity firm GTCR. The purchase price is $820 million, and closing is expected during CACIs fiscal second quarter, ending December, subject to regulatory approvals.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T): Current price $33.81
Knowledgeable sources report that AT&T is close to an agreement to divest its wireless towers to Crown Castle International Corp. The terms of the deal are still being completed, meaning that the deal could still go awry, according to the people, who also said in September that the assets could bring $5 billion.
