On Tuesday morning, analyst Brian White at Topeka Capital Markets, wrote of the latest occurrence in the Dell saga that “the financial details of the Icahn deal are credible, the $14 price is clearly higher than Silver Lake’s offer and the potential EPS accretion on the remaining shares outstanding is compelling,” as he pondered Carl Icahn’s Monday announcement that he has obtained lender commitments for $5.2 billion toward his $14 tender offer for Dell shares. Icahn’s move is in conflict with Chief Executive Michael Dell‘s intended leveraged buyout at $13.65, At this moment, White has a Buy and a $15 price target on Dell shares.

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE): Current price $22.89

The European Commission reports that it has okayed General Electric’s $4.3-billion acquisition of the aviation parts arm of Avio SpA, following assurances by GE that it will not prevent Avio’s participation in the European jet fighter project, Eurojet. Avio ranks as a significant contributor to the consortium that is developing the Eurojet. Subsequent to GE announcing the Avio deal in December, the commission’s antitrust authority said that the purchase might create a conflict of interest, as both GE and Avio manufacture engines for fighter jets.

Outerwall (NASDAQ:OUTR): Current price $61.29

Outerwall, formerly known as Coinstar, said on Tuesday that it will acquire ecoATM at a cash price of $350 million, which includes the payoff of certain debts and transaction costs, subject to adjustment for working capital as of closing. Additionally, since Outerwall presently holds a 23-percent ownership interest in ecoATM, consideration for this stake will be subtracted from the actual cash paid. When the transaction closes, Outerwall will own all of ecoATM.

US Airways Group (NYSE:LCC): Current price $16.44

Texas is leading a group of 19 attorneys general, that has joined a United States Justice Department inquiry into the planned merger of American Airlines and US Airways Group, said three sources close to the discussions to Reuters. A portion of the states fear that they will lose a hub due of the planned transaction, which would form the biggest airline on the planet, while others worry about service cutbacks to smaller cities also because of the transaction, according to two sources. At this time, US Airways has hubs in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Phoenix, while American has hubs in New York, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.
