4 Stocks Investors are Watching in After Hours Markets
Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) got clobbered after yesterday’s earnings. However, the Big Pharma company is making moves today after hours on news of a possible over the counter version of blockbuster cholesterol drug Lipitor. That would open up more prospective customers for Pfizer which has been struggling with drugs losing patent protection.
Activision Blizzard Inc. (NASDAQ:ATVI) reported profits of $335 million (29 cents a share) compared with $219 million (17 cents a share) year-over-year. Revenue was $1.15 billion versus $967 million y-o-y. The stock is up over 3.5% in after hours trading.
Zumiez (NASDAQ:ZUMZ) is down over 125 after hours as the teen retailer said July sales at stores open at least one year rose 4.9%. Unfortunately, analysts expected same-store sales to climb 7.5%. Hopefully Zumiez can get their business together ahead of the all-important back to school shopping season.
Zipcar Inc. (NASDAQ:ZIP) reported a loss of $5.6 million (17 cents a share) versus a loss of $5.2 million (95 cents a share) year-over-year. Revenue rose 34% to $61.6 million. Zipcar also gave investors something to cheer about when the car-sharing company upped its 2011 outlook. The stock is up over 13% after hours.
